Qualcomm Technologies and Xiaomi have successfully validated metre-level positioning with the Xiaomi 12T Pro powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 mobile platform in Germany. Meter-level positioning significantly improves the location performance of smartphones, providing a superior user experience when using maps, driving and more location-based mobile applications.

Xiaomi leverages Qualcomm Meter-Level Positioning for smartphones with the Trimble RTX calibration service. The Xiaomi 11 Pro / Ultra was the first to commercially implement Qualcomm Meter-Level Positioning in the Chinese market.

Metre-level positioning accuracy can enhance the smartphone user experience in many scenarios, including using maps, driving and other mobile applications. Specifically, greater accuracy can be achieved in the following scenarios:

  • When using online taxi apps, can provide drivers and passengers with accurate pick-up locations.
  • When using fitness apps, it can accurately record the outdoor exercise track of users’ cycling and running.
  • Optimised lane level accuracy, more map detail and more precise directions when using in-car real-time navigation applications.

Qualcomm’s metre-level positioning technology for smartphones combined with the Trimble RTX calibration service delivers extremely high positioning accuracy on commercial smartphones. When integrated with the Snapdragon mobile platform, Trimble RTX enhances the positioning performance of flagship handsets, enabling even greater accuracy.

The three parties have conducted high-precision verification tests (including driving tests) in several scenarios, including open suburban roads and urban highways. The test results show that the mobile terminal can achieve meter-level accuracy at a confidence level of 95%.

The relevant configuration is Xiaomi 12T Pro phone with LPDDR5 memory and UFS 3.1 storage, pre-installed Android 12-based MIUI 13 system. The 6.67-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, which supports HDR10+, Dolby Vision, typical brightness of 500 nits (900 nits peak), is protected by Gorilla Glass 5. The 200-megapixel camera is a Samsung ISOCELL HP1 sensor, 1/1.22 inches, with a pixel size of 0.64µm, and supports 4-in-1 and 16-in-1 photography.

Xiaomi previously released the company’s first eSIM-enabled flagship phone in the international market — Xiaomi 12T Pro, which is introduced to use NXP’s NXP SN110 aggregated eSIM solution to achieve support for eSIM functionality in the global market, and users of hundreds of operators around the world can use eSIM functionality on this product.

The SN110 series is a highly integrated converged eSIM solution that enables advanced features such as secure mobile traffic, payments and smart access control via near-field communication (NFC) and embedded security chips, in addition to supporting GSMA-certified consumer eSIM for cellular connectivity. This ultra-small, low-power, single-chip solution enables device manufacturers such as Xiaomi to more easily offer consumers remote configuration and wireless updates of SIM cards, as well as multiple mobile network operator (MNO) access on the same device.

Converged eSIM solutions offer several advantages over traditional SIM cards, such as the ability for consumers to use multiple eSIM configurations on the same device, eliminating the need to carry multiple devices, or changing SIM cards when traveling internationally. In addition, it is easier for device manufacturers to achieve scale in geographic areas with different service providers.

SN110 offers high levels of security, including Common Criteria EAL6+ certification for GSMA CC protection, GP (Global Platform) and GSMA certification schemes. It has been tested against major mobile network operators (MNOs) around the world, helping to ensure interoperability and a smooth user experience for consumers, OEMs and MNOs.

In other configurations, the Xiaomi 12T Pro is powered by a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip with LPDDR5 memory and UFS 3.1 storage and comes pre-installed with Android 12-based MIUI 13. It features a 6.67-inch 120Hz AMOLED display that supports HDR10+, Dolby Vision, typical brightness of 500 nits (900 nits peak) and is protected by Gorilla Glass 5. The 200-megapixel camera is a Samsung ISOCELL HP1 sensor, 1/1.22-inch, with a pixel size of 0.64µm, and supports 4-in-1 and 16-in-1 photography.

SoftBank this week in Japan released Xiaomi 12T Pro, the new machine will be on sale on December 16, called the god of fast charging The new machine will be available for sale on December 16 and can be fully charged to 100% in 19 minutes.

Xiaomi is now entering the 200-megapixel era after offering a phone with an impressive 1-inch sensor. The phone doesn’t have a huge imaging sensor, but the performance is still quite impressive. As usual, the T series is a standalone design and not a successor or upgrade to the Xiaomi 12 series. They also have little to do with the 12S models, so let’s look at them with fresh eyes.

The exciting thing about the Xiaomi 12T Pro is the first phone to come with a 200-megapixel camera. It is built around the Samsung ISOCELL HP1 image sensor, a 1/1.22-inch sensor with a pixel size of 0.64µm, which can be divided into 1.28µm (quad-in-one) or even 2.56µm (16-in-one) depending on lighting conditions and user intent.

There’s no telephoto lens on the Xiaomi 12T Pro, but the high-resolution sensor natively supports 2x lossless digital zoom. It can also shoot 8K video and record HDR10+ footage. And it has Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) for longer exposures in the dark, and advanced features such as eye-tracking and motion-tracking autofocus are not absent.

If you’re buying the 12T Pro for the camera, it must be for the main camera; the other three cameras are less impressive: an 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle camera with a 1/4-inch sensor (1/1.12µm pixel) and an f/2.2 120° lens and a 2-megapixel macro camera, a 20-megapixel selfie camera (1/3.47 inch, 0.8µm, f/2.24 and 78° lens) is located on the front of the body, and there is an in-display fingerprint reader under the screen.

Speaking of the display, it is a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel with a resolution of 1220 x 2712px (20:9, 446ppi). It can run at a 120Hz refresh rate or you can also have it automatically switch between 30, 60, 90 and 120Hz modes. The 12-bit panel supports HDR+ as well as Dolby Vision, is factory-corrected, it has a typical brightness of 500 nits (900 nits peak) and is protected by Gorilla Glass 5.

One thing this phone shares with the 12S series is the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, which will continue to offer a balance between performance and efficiency even after the fast-approaching 8 Gen 2 arrives. Xiaomi has considerably beefed up the cooling on the 12T Pro model: the VC is 65% larger and there is 125% more cooling material.

In terms of performance, the Xiaomi 12T Pro Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ is paired with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage in the base version, but it can also be bought in 8/256GB and 12/256GB configurations, running Android 12 (MIUI 13) as the operating system.

The 12T Pro is powered by a 5000mAh battery with 120W of fast charging capability power (charger included). 5000mAh is enough for up to 13.5 hours of screen-on time, after which the battery can be restored to 100% in just 19 minutes.

The 12T Pro has built-in stereo speakers (tuned by Harman Kardon with Dolby Atmos support), Wi-Fi 6 (ax), Bluetooth 5.2 and NFC (in certain regions), as well as being a dual-SIM phone with 5G connectivity.

The Xiaomi 12T Pro will be available on 13 October through Xiaomi’s official channels and will start at €750 for the 8/128GB model.

Xiaomi 12T

Although the Xiaomi 12T lacks the main camera of the Pro model, it still offers a similar screen and battery configuration, combined with the performance of the Dimensity 8100-Max chipset and a solidly performing 108MP camera with a sensor based on the ISOCELL HM6, a 1/1.67″ sensor with the same size pixels as the 12T Pro’s main camera of This camera also has OIS stabilization and an f/1.7 aperture and lacks 8K video or more advanced features such as eye-tracking autofocus.

The rest of the cameras are the same as the Pro version, including an 8MP ultra-wide angle (1/4″, 1.12µm, f/2.2 and 120°) and a 2MP macro, and a 20MP selfie camera (1/3.47″, 0.8µm, f/2.24 and 78° aperture).

Mounted on top of the same selfie camera is the same display: 6.67″ 20:9 AMOLED panel with 1220p+ resolution. 12-bit panel supports HDR10+ (no Dolby Vision) and 30/60/90/120Hz refresh rates, as well as a 480Hz touch sampling rate. Like the Pro, it has a typical brightness of 500 nits (900 nits peak) and Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

The 12T is also fitted with Dolby Atmos stereo speakers but without the technical additions of Harman Kardon. Connectivity capabilities include Wi-Fi 6 (ax), Bluetooth 5.3 and NFC (in some regions), again a dual-SIM phone with 5G connectivity.

As we mentioned earlier, the phone is powered by the Dimensity 8100-Max processor and can be paired with 8/128GB or 8/256GB of RAM (LPDDR5 and UFS 3.1, no 12GB RAM option) and runs Android 12 with MIUI 13.

Despite the difference in the main chip, Xiaomi claims that this model can get up to 13.5 hours of screen-on time and that the phone comes with the same 120W charger that takes just 19 minutes to get the battery to 100%.

The Xiaomi 12T will be launched on 13 October alongside the Pro and will be cheaper compared to the Pro: €600 for the 8/128GB model.

According to previous news, Xiaomi will release its first 200-megapixel main camera phone, the Xiaomi 12T Pro, this month. today, a tipster has found suspected information on the phone in the Geekbench database, which shows that it will be powered by a Snapdragon 8+ processor.

Altogether, the rumors suggest that the Xiaomi 12T Pro should be a beefed-up version of the Redmi K50 Supreme Edition, keeping everything the same except for the upgraded 200-megapixel main camera.

The biggest highlight of the device is the 1.5K screen, a specially customized screen from Xiaomi that claims to be capable of achieving near 2K-level clarity at 1080p power consumption, boasting 2712×1220 and a PPI of 446.

In terms of performance, the Redmi K50 Supreme Edition was previously powered by a Snapdragon 8+ processor with 6400Mbps of full-blooded LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 high-speed flash memory, which is expected to be inherited by the Xiaomi 12T Pro as well, capable of delivering a very powerful performance output.

Elsewhere, the device has a built-in 5000mAh battery, support for 120W wired flash charging and a triple camera module on the rear.

Note that the leak claims that the phone will be released overseas first, but whether it will return to China is still unknown.

WinFuture has revealed renders of the Xiaomi 12T Pro, which, as shown in the image, features a matrix triple camera solution and an overall shape on the back not too dissimilar to the Xiaomi 12. Like the 12S series, the Xiaomi 12T Pro also focuses on imaging, although the latter does not have Leica certification.

It has a 200-megapixel rear main camera with an aperture of f/1.69, and it is not certain if it supports OIS optical stabilization. This is Xiaomi’s first 200-megapixel phone, model unknown, possibly the same Samsung HP1 found on the moto X30 Pro.

The Samsung ISOCELL HP1 is said to have a larger sensor size than the Sony IMX707, which measures 1/1.28 inches with a unit pixel area of 0.64μm and supports Chame leonCell pixel synthesis.

In the dim light, Samsung’s 200 million pixels can be synthesized into a large 1.28μm pixel to produce a 50MP sample.

The Xiaomi 12T Pro also features an 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle and 2-megapixel macro, with a 20-megapixel front camera.

At its core, the Xiaomi 12T Pro features a 6.67-inch straight screen with a resolution of 1220 x 2712 and a refresh rate of 120Hz, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ flagship processor, a 5000mAh battery and support for 120W wired flash charging, with no support for wireless charging.

It is rumored to be priced at €850 (roughly RMB 5,900) and released in Europe this month.
