For its design, the Xiaomi 12T Pro Daniel Arsham Edition comes with a green rear panel with copper-coloured crystals. When under light, the copper crystals shine differently and stand out as they seem to pop out from the green rear panel. The design of this smartphone will appeal to those who have a drive for art, as it is a masterpiece.

As for the specifications of the device, it stays the same as the Xiaomi 12T Pro, but only offers 12GB worth of memory. Screen details are a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel supporting a 120Hz refresh rate. The processor on board is the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, and it comes with a triple rear camera setup housing a 200MP main lens.

The Xiaomi 12T Pro Daniel Arsham Edition comes with Android 12 running MIUI 13 with customizations to fit the limited edition device’s theme. Battery capacity is 5000mAh with 120W fast charging support to get the device up to 100% in 19 minutes. Officially, Xiaomi says that the design of the machine adopts Daniel Arsham’s “Future Archeological” aesthetic, the first attempt to create textures on a smartphone about the sculptural proposition of obsolescence and natural erosion.

The Xiaomi 12T Pro Daniel Arsham Edition will be available in Europe in a limited edition of 2,000 units on December 16, 2022, and will be available as an exclusive online retail partner at highsnobiety.com and mi.com for €899 (currently around RMB 6,599) for 12GB + 256GB of storage.

In terms of hardware, the Xiaomi 12T Pro is the first Xiaomi phone to feature a 200-megapixel camera using the Samsung ISOCELL HP1 sensor, a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,220 x 2,712 (20:9, 446ppi), support for a 120Hz refresh rate, and a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset.

Daniel Arsham is an artist living in New York whose practice spans fine art, architecture, performance and film, and he even has a Weibo account.

Arsham’s iconic works blend the past, present and future, demonstrating the malleability and power of nostalgia, according to Xiaomi’s website. His works are made from geological materials such as sand, nitrite and volcanic ash. As Arsham claims, these materials have the look and aesthetic of eroded or archaeological, future relics.
