Apple’s fall event “Far out” is less than 48 hours away, and the company is expected to unveil iPhone 14, Apple Watch Series 8, AirPods Pro 2 and a new Apple Watch for extreme sports people. Pro.

Interestingly, the New York Times has released a last-minute tip that Apple will release another Apple Watch for kids and teens that is cheaper than the Apple Watch SE.

▼ Apple Watch SE

The New York Times, citing sources “involved” in Apple’s work, said Apple has spent about three years refining the Home Settings feature for the Apple Watch. Home Settings is a feature added to watchOS 7 that allows users without an iPhone to use their Apple Watch with a cellular connection, including access to phone calls, messaging, apps, location sharing and other features.

The report said Apple will release a “new version of the Apple Watch that is cheaper than the Apple Watch SE” as part of an effort to “more aggressively court younger smartwatch customers. According to two people familiar with Apple’s plans, the product is expected to be introduced at Apple’s fall event.

Apple’s Apple Watch SE is currently priced from RMB 2,199, and if the kids’ watch is cheaper, it could be under RMB 2,000.

In addition, Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman revealed that Apple has developed an exclusive band and dial for the new Apple Watch Pro. In a recent tweet, Gurman said, “The new bands for the Apple Watch Pro will be very extensive and incorporate an extreme sports theme.” In other words, consumers willing to buy the Apple Watch Pro will have access to a new line of bands created just for it.

It’s unclear exactly what these bands will look like, but Apple could be using a partnership with a sports brand, which has been done before. It’s worth noting that Gurman previously said that while the old bands will work with the Apple Watch Pro, they won’t be a perfect fit.

Gurman also believes that Apple will launch a new dial designed specifically for the Apple Watch Pro to show users intensive fitness information.

Leaked CAD renders reveal the potential design of the Apple Watch Pro. Unlike the current Apple Watch, the new Apple Watch Pro features a larger 47mm case and a flat-screen. However, contrary to previous rumors, the Apple Watch Pro’s case is not flat. The rendering also shows a third new side button.

According to Gurman, this new button is “programmable,” so users can set it up for different actions, such as opening a specific app, starting a workout or any other action within the app. The digital crown also looks completely different from the one on the current Apple Watch, but it’s unclear if new software features will be enabled.

The Apple Watch Pro is expected to feature a titanium case that, when combined with a flat-screen, will allow for increased durability of the device.

In addition to the Apple Watch Pro, Apple has been working on two other new Apple Watches, of which the Apple Watch Series 8 is expected to maintain the same design and size as its predecessor, as well as similar internal hardware, with the main difference being the addition of a new body temperature sensor. As for the second-generation Apple Watch SE or Apple Watch SE 2, Apple is also expected to keep the same design and sensors as the current model, but this time with a faster processor.

This year, there are reports that Apple is preparing to launch three new Apple Watch models, including the Apple Watch Series 8, Apple Watch SE 2, and a rugged Apple Watch Pro for athletes.

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the Apple Watch Pro will debut with a new design that “improves on the form factor since Series 4.

According to images posted by Weibo blogger @UnclePan Uncle Pan, you can basically tell what the watch will look like from the Apple Watch Series 8 Pro’s accessories, which feature a new square case design.

The blogger notes that the “Pro is not square in the traditional sense, but a new form,” and the case does suggest that the body of the watch will have rounded edges, while the top edge of the chassis display will be flat and possibly flush with a flatter screen than the Apple Watch Series 7 model, potentially providing better all-around protection against impacts.

The digital crown and side buttons on the right also have several holes that look larger than usual: one round, one pill-shaped, and what are usually the device’s two thin speaker slit strips. Whether these are to accommodate the new speaker design or additional physical buttons is unclear.

Sonny Dickson also later tweeted the following image, which shows more clearly the accessories allegedly designed for the Apple Watch Pro.

The Apple Watch Pro is expected to have a larger screen (expanding to 1.99 inches) and battery, use the S8 chip and include a body temperature sensor. The model will also feature a sturdy titanium case and is expected to cost $900 to $1,000.

Apple will announce the new iPhone 14 lineup at its “Ultra Preview” event on September 8, according to the leak. The lineup will include the 6.1-inch iPhone 14, 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Plus (or iPhone 14 Max), 6.1-inch iPhone 14 Pro and 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Pro Max. The new lineup will mark the end of the road for the 5.4-inch “mini” form factor. The new lineup will mark the end of the road for the 5.4-inch “mini” form factor, which has only been released in two generations: iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 13 mini.

Apple is also expected to announce the Apple Watch Series 8, the faster Apple Watch SE 2, and the new rugged Apple Watch Pro. According to Gurman, the AirPods Pro 2 is also expected to be announced during the event.

Finally, the Apple Apple Watch Series 3 is sold out in some regions, with MacRumors reporting that the watch is out of stock in most versions in the U.K. and Australia, while it’s completely sold out in the U.S.

The media outlet previously said that the Apple Apple Watch Series 3 is expected to be discontinued in September and that the device will not be upgraded to run the latest version of watchOS 9 software, which means that potential customers should no longer buy the device.

The Apple Apple Watch Series 3 is still available for purchase on Apple’s official website in China.

Apple’s Apple Watch Series 3 was released in September 2017, almost five years ago. It is the oldest device to support watchOS 8, but its S3 chip lags significantly behind the Apple Watch SE’s S5 chip and the Apple Watch Series 7’s S7 chip in terms of performance. The Apple Watch Series 3 is also the only remaining Apple Watch with an older, thicker design, with large bezels and corners around the display.

Following last year’s iOS 14.6 and watchOS 7.5 updates, Apple Watch Series 3 users must unpair and re-pair their device from their linked iPhone when updating watchOS because the Apple Watch doesn’t have enough internal storage to do the update on its own.

In June, Apple previewed watchOS 9, the next-generation operating system for the Apple Watch, which is no longer supported on the Apple Watch Series 3, meaning the device will continue to run “watchOS 8. Nevertheless, the Apple Watch Series 3 is still available for sale. Apple is expected to discontinue the device when it announces a new Apple Watch model at its iPhone 14 / Pro launch event next month.

Those looking for an entry-level Apple Watch model can look forward to the Apple Watch SE 2. The Apple Watch SE debuted in 2020 and is a low-cost option for customers. Nearly two years since its launch, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman and analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, among others, expect the Apple Watch SE 2 to be released next month alongside the Apple Watch Series 8.
