TCL CSOT has developed a 13.3-inch customized full privacy screen that integrates customized anti-peep and directional sound, providing a thinner, more customized anti-peep technology solution. The full privacy screen adopts a thinner and thinner special dimming structure to realize free switching between full-surface anti-peeping and partial anti-peeping. At the same time, through the integrated directional sound unit, it can realize the audible angle of ±10°, effectively preventing the leakage of sound information.

TCL Huaxing aims to solve users’ privacy protection worries through the screen instead of the screen film. TCL CSOT’s 13.3-inch customized full privacy screen adopts a 3:1 partition setting, which can be switched arbitrarily between the 4 states of left anti-peep, right anti-peep, full-screen anti-peep + anti-eavesdropping, and full sharing. In the anti-peeping state, the side 45-degree brightness is only 1.1% of the front-view brightness, while in the sharing state, the side 45-degree brightness is 10% of the front-view brightness. This means that when the full-screen anti-peeping and anti-eavesdropping functions are turned on, only observers in front of the screen can hear the sound and see the displayed content, thus effectively protecting personal privacy and business secrets.

In addition to anti-peeping on the entire surface, TCL CSOT’s 13.3-inch customized full privacy screen can also realize anti-peeping and sharing in partial locations. Depending on the usage scenario, users can switch between different modes with one click, and choose the screen information they want to display and protect, which solves the troubles encountered when ordinary privacy screens and privacy films need to share the screen with other people. In addition, by integrating a directional sound unit, the audible angle of ±10° & 0.3-16 kHz can be realized, that is to say, in the anti-peep mode, only the user directly in front of the screen can hear the sound, Effectively prevent information leakage caused by sound.

Compared with the ordinary anti-peep screen, the full privacy screen has a more flexible local dynamic anti-peep function and anti-eavesdropping function, which can comprehensively and effectively protect the user’s “viewing” and “listening” information security.

Samsung Display transferred its LCD-related patents in the US to TCL Huaxing in June, according to TheElec. The source said Samsung Display also transferred its patents in South Korea to TCL Huaxing last month.

Huaxing, which has 577 patents granted in the U.S., previously acquired Samsung Display’s LCD plant in Suzhou, China, in 2020, the report said.

Samsung Display is believed to have sold all of its approximately 2,000 LCD-related patents to a third party in the deal. The recent transfer marks the complete end of Samsung Display’s LCD business.

TCL Huaxing, on the other hand, is vulnerable to patent litigation in the US due to its relatively few LCD patents, and this latest move may protect it from future litigation. At the same time, Samsung Electronics may also retain the right to use Samsung Display’s transferred patents.

Samsung Display has decided to shut down its liquid crystal display (LCD) business in June, with its global competitive advantage declining as Chinese rivals produce cheaper products, making it struggle, industry sources revealed Sunday, as previously reported by the Korea Times.

Samsung Display will no longer produce LCDs for large TV screens and will instead focus on making organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) and quantum dot (QD) displays. employees from the LCD business are expected to be transferred to the QD business, while LCD demand will be sourced from other manufacturers such as TCL Huaxing.

According to the TCL Huaxing release, higher resolution and higher refresh rate have become the trend of display development. High-resolution and high-refresh display puts forward higher requirements for data transmission rate, and traditional Mini LVDS transmission technology cannot achieve high-speed data transmission. Therefore, various panel manufacturers are actively deploying P2P transmission technologies that support high-speed transmission.

TCL CSOT has released the high-speed point-to-point transmission technology CSOT Point-to-Point Interface (CSPI). Compared with the traditional P2P transmission technology, it can achieve higher transmission frequency and transmission rate. High-resolution and high-refresh display data transmission provides a better solution.

The CSPI protocol technology is an in-screen high-speed transmission technology independently innovated by TCL CSOT, which provides a solution for high-speed signal transmission from TCON to Source Driver in the in-display driver architecture. Taking 8K products as an example, if the traditional Mini LVDS technology requires 169Pairs of wiring, productization is not feasible, while the number of CSPI wiring can be reduced to 48Pairs, reducing the number of wiring by 70%.

In addition, the traditional P2P transmission technology will have inter-symbol distortion during high-speed transmission. The AEQ adaptive equalizer design independently developed by TCL CSOT can solve this problem and ensure excellent display quality under high-speed transmission.

The CSPI protocol can reduce the number of wires by 70%.

Unlike the traditional Multi-Drop architecture, the traditional P2P transmission technology uses the internal clock recovery circuit to recover the clock signal based on the received differential signal (including clock signal and data signal), and samples the corresponding data signal based on the clock signal, which has the characteristics of fast transmission rate.

TCL Huaxing CSPI technology, compared with traditional P2P transmission technology, adopts 8B / 9B codec and clock embedding technology to further improve transmission frequency and efficiency, in which transmission frequency is 7.5 times higher than traditional Mini LVDS technology and transmission efficiency is 11% higher than traditional P2P transmission technology.

CSPI protocol transmission frequency and efficiency have been improved

TCL Huaxing said that it is the first-panel manufacturer in China to achieve independent development of P2P transmission technology and has shipped more than 500 million SD ICs with CSPI technology by 2022. In terms of patents, TCL Huaxing CSPI technology has independent codec and other related patents and has applied for the national standard for point-to-point signal interface transmission protocol for LCDs, which can be used by domestic manufacturers free of charge.

TCL Huaxing CSPI protocol technology has covered the whole series of TV / MNT / NB products, and TCL Huaxing has achieved mass production by integrating CSPI transmission technology into UD and 8K products, of which 32″ UD 240Hz and 75″ 8K 265Hz have been equipped with CSPI protocol technology to achieve the first product technology launch.

TCL Huaxing introduced its latest screen power-saving technology – the latest half-transparent half-reverse technology.

Principle, the official said the screen is divided according to the lighting technology, there are reflective, transmissive and semi-reflective semi-transmissive. The reflective screen has a reflector on the back to provide a light source for reading in sunlight and light. This type of screen performs well under strong light sources such as outdoor sunlight, but can not even read in the case of insufficient light. Transflective screens rely on the backlight to provide a light source, and although they have the excellent reading ability under low light and no light, the backlight brightness is seriously insufficient under outdoor sunlight.

Transflective display (TRD) technology is actually a display that can switch between transmissive display mode or reflective display mode according to the change in ambient brightness, using ambient light as the light source to achieve display in a bright environment, and using the backlight to provide light source to achieve display in a dark environment, combining the reflective display mode to save energy, protect the eyes, high brightness High environmental contrast and transmission display high-definition, fast dynamic response and other advantages.

TCL Huaxing has completed the development of TRD technology, can quickly achieve mass production of products.

TCL Huaxing TRD reflective display mode power is 10% of the transmissive mode, with ultra-low power consumption display characteristics, compared to existing PID high-brightness products, TRD outdoor display power consumption can be reduced by about 90%. In terms of dynamic display, compared with the market reflective electronic paper, TRD response time can reach several ms level, dynamic switching effect is better, no ghosting problem.

TCL Huaxing announce the world’s first WQHD LTPO 88-degree waterfall display https://www.techgoing.com/tcl-huaxing-announce-the-worlds-first-wqhd-ltpo-88-degree-waterfall-display/ Mon, 06 Jun 2022 10:34:43 +0000 https://www.techgoing.com/?p=3689 Ground breaking advancement in the smartphone industry is TCL Huaxing announcement of the world's first WQHD LTPO 88-degree curved display.

The post TCL Huaxing announce the world’s first WQHD LTPO 88-degree waterfall display appeared first on TechGoing.

]]>
A new record is set by TCL Huaxing, the company’s latest announcement is of the world’s first LTPO 88-degree waterfall display. A lot of smartphone manufacturers have devices with waterfall displays, like Samsung, and Huawei. Some chose to stick with a moderate waterfall display, while others like Huawei go all out.

Huawei Mate 30 Pro has a waterfall display that displaces the power button and eliminates the volume rocker keys. The Mate 30 Pro waterfall display is quite similar to that of the new TCL LTPO 88-degree waterfall display. Both displays have an edge curvature of 88-degrees, this makes the side bezels phase into the back when viewed from the front.

TCL Huaxing

The major difference between Huawei’s 88-degree waterfall screen design and that of TCL Huaxing is the display type. The new TCL 88-degree flexes an LTPO (low-temperature polycrystalline oxide) display panel which is the first in the world. On the other hand, Huawei’s 88-degree waterfall display uses an OLED panel. The major difference between these two panels is seen in battery consumption. Devices using LTPO technology consume less battery while dynamically switching refresh rates.

Another difference with the TCL Huaxing new waterfall screen is that it makes use of WQHD (wide quad HD). Other available waterfall screens use a QHD screen. The wide nature of this display enables the screen to adopt hyperboloid technology. This simply means that the display curves at all four edges, which helps optimize the symmetry of the screen.

Long before the release of this WQHD LTPO waterfall display by TCL, leaks had it that a quad waterfall display was in the work. This is a groundbreaking technological advancement in the field of smartphone screen displays. We expect other smartphone manufacturers to adopt this technology with their coming waterfall display devices.
