The official Surface Pro 9 (Wi-Fi version) is now available on Microsoft’s website, priced at RMB 6,288.

According to the report, every refurbished Surface goes through Microsoft’s rigorous refurbishment process, which includes hardware damage repair and cosmetic quality checks, plus secure data wiping, software upgrades and diagnostic testing. Refurbished devices are covered by a two-year limited hardware warranty.

Microsoft Surface Pro 9 was released on October 12, 2022, with a new price tag starting at RMB 7,788 for Intel’s 12th generation Core processors (i5-1235U and i7-1255U) and Microsoft’s SQ3 chip with a 5G network card for the first time. The Surface Pro 9 features a 13-inch 3:2 ratio PixelSense screen with 2880 x 1920 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, sRGB and Vivid color display modes, 1200:1 contrast ratio, adaptive color and automatic color management.

Microsoft Surface Pro 9 Intel versions have received Intel’s Evo certification, which officially states that its performance has increased by 50% compared to its predecessor.

The 5G version of the Surface Pro 9 is powered by the Microsoft SQ 3 processor (based on the Snapdragon 8cx 3rd generation) with a new neural processing unit, which officials say will provide up to 19 hours of battery life.

In addition, there are differences in memory and storage configurations between the two. The Intel version of the Surface Pro 9 is available with up to 32GB of LPDDR5 memory + 1TB of storage, while the 5G version is available with up to 16GB of LPDDR4x memory + 512GB of storage.

Microsoft announced that it will hold a launch event on October 12, 2022, at 10 a.m. EDT and released a colorful poster modified according to the Windows 11 desktop wallpaper, which is expected to launch a new generation of Surface computers.

Microsoft’s Surface series will celebrate its 10th anniversary on October 26 this year, so the new Surface products in October are especially worth waiting for. According to previous reports, the Surface Pro 9, Surface Laptop 5, Surface Studio 3, and possibly even a Surface Gaming gaming book will be launched.

Microsoft’s annual Ignite conference will also be held from October 12 to 14, 2022, so the new launch will be held with the Ignite conference.

According to previous reports, Microsoft is developing the Surface Pro 9 2-in-1 device, which is expected to be released within the year, and will be available in both Intel and ARM versions, with the Surface Pro X product line being merged.

WinFuture claims to have gotten information from retailers about the Intel version of Surface Pro 9 with Intel Core i5-1235U and i7-1255U processors. In addition to the usual silver and black colors, there will also be a green version called “Forest” and a blue version called “Sapphire”.

The ARM version of the Surface Pro 9 is expected to be equipped with a Snapdragon 8cx Gen3 processor with 16GB of RAM and 5G support, and has appeared on the Geekbench scoring platform with a single-core score of 1005 and a multi-core score of 5574, and has passed FCC certification.

Microsoft will also release the Surface Laptop 5 at the same time, with the same 13- and 15-inch screen as its predecessor, according to the tipster rquandt. The Surface Laptop 5 is expected to be powered by Intel Core i5-1235U and i7-1255U processors, while the AMD Raron processor version may be cut, which is currently in doubt.

Official renders of the new Microsoft Surface keyboard and mouse, and stylus has appeared in a recent update to the Surface app for Windows, and these new accessories could be available this fall along with the upcoming Surface Studio 3.

In addition, based on specs found by Prime Gaming, it appears that Microsoft is preparing to launch its first gaming-focused Surface Gaming laptop with 12th Gen Core Standard + RTX 3050 Ti / 3070 Ti graphics, though the revealed specs have a number of question marks.

A new FCC document hints at 4G LTE and 5G network support for the upcoming Surface. Although Microsoft has not yet confirmed that it will hold a hardware event this autumn, there is an event where the “C3K1997” device, which has appeared in the FCC, will be one of the main protagonists.

Hundreds of pages of specs and test reports mention Microsoft devices that can run in “tablet mode” and possibly transmit both 4G LTE and 5G signals, suggesting that the technology used may be different from the Intel communication modules used in the previous Surface.

If Microsoft were to hold a hardware launch, it is expected to unveil the Surface Pro 9 with the latest Intel processors and the Surface Pro X with a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, but it is speculated that Microsoft may merge the Pro and X series due to the close proximity of the two series’ designs.

If Microsoft were to merge the Pro and X series, the end result could be this new C3K1997 device, which houses several different modems and chipsets in one unified body.

According to previous reports, Microsoft is working on a Surface Pro 9 2-in-1 device, which is expected to be released within the year, and will be available in both Intel and ARM versions.

Recently, Microsoft’s new 4G and 5G “portable computing device” appeared on the US FCC list C3K1997 and is expected to be the Snapdragon processor-powered Surface Pro 9.

The FCC list contains many references to the device tested in “tablet mode”, showing built-in 5G connectivity, Bluetooth 5, and offering Wi-Fi 6. “The device includes the following features: 850/1900 GSM / GPRS / EDGE, 850/1900 WCDMA / HSPA, Multi-band LTE, Multi-band 5G NR, 802.11b / g / n / ax WLAN, 802.11a / n / ac / ax UNII (5GHz), Bluetooth (1x, EDR, LE).”

In addition, according to this FCC document, the Surface Pro 9 will be equipped with an ARM processor. The document includes a reference to Qualcomm Smart Transmit 3.0, a technology designed to extend 5G coverage and increase uplink speeds.

Zac Bowden from Windows Central, citing his sources within Microsoft, has revealed that Microsoft plans to combine the Surface Pro with Intel processors and the Surface Pro X with ARM processors into one device line.

In addition, Microsoft’s new Surface Pro X has appeared on the Geekbench scoreboard, confirming a Snapdragon 8cx Gen3 processor with 16GB of RAM and a score of 1005 on the single-core and 5574 on the multi-core.

According to tipster Rich ‘Rose Gold’ Woods, the Surface Pro 9 will be powered by the Microsoft SQ3 chip, which the software giant will develop in collaboration with Qualcomm, and it will be customized based on the Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3. The Microsoft SQ3 chip may have slightly different CPU and GPU clock frequencies, but otherwise, the SoC will have most of the similarities to Qualcomm’s chip.
