Redmi officially announced that the Redmi Note 12 Turbo will be released on March 28. This is a new member of the Redmi Note, and its positioning is more than Pro. The machine is equipped with a Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chip.

Today’s official warm-up, Redmi Note 12 Turbo supports stereo dual speakers, spatial audio, Dolby Vision, Hi-Res double gold standard, etc., and compensates for the user’s sense of hearing, reduces the delay of the K song application, and the 150-level volume adjustment is more delicate.

The new Redmi Note 12 Turbo adopts an ultra-thin four-narrow edge design without a screen stand, which is still a trendy small vertical edge. It means that the Redmi Note 12 Turbo has removed the plastic bracket.

The Redmi Note 12 Turbo uses a 2.22mm narrower chin, which is narrower than the iPhone 14 (the four borders are equal to 2.4mm), the upper border is 1.95mm, and the side border is 1.42mm. A higher screen-to-body ratio of 93.4% is adopted.

According to the previous warm-up, the Redmi Note 12 Turbo phone is equipped with the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chip, which uses the same process architecture as the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. The second-generation Snapdragon 7+’s Qualcomm Kryo CPU has a maximum clock speed of 2.91GHz and a performance improvement of more than 50%. At the same time, the performance of Qualcomm Adreno GPU is improved by 2 times. The second-generation Snapdragon 7+ also delivers up to a 13 percent improvement in overall system power efficiency. The Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 parameters are 1 2.91GHz Cortex-X2 super core, 3 2.49GHz Cortex-A710 large cores, 4 1.8GHz Cortex-A510 small cores, and the GPU part Adreno 725 580MHz. Snapdragon X62 5G baseband.)

Redmi Note 12 Turbo also uses super-diffusion VC. The Note series has a maximum gaming-grade VC area of 3725mm². With the addition of diversion grooves, the VC heat dissipation capacity is increased by 35%. Equipped with Redmi’s self-developed flagship engine, a super harsh large-scale RPG game test, the actual test reached 59.7fps. “Glory of the King” high-definition 119.2fps.

Redmi Note 12 Turbo adopts nine flagship-level structural protections, four-corner reinforced design, hardened back cover, Corning Gorilla Glass, motherboard mounting reinforcement steel sheet, key chip silicone pad support, etc. The software failure rate is only 0.005%. 48 months smooth without stuttering. The “16GB+1TB” memory combination will be used.

Redmi Note 12 Turbo is equipped with ultra-fine four narrow sides + straight screen without screen bracket, supports 12bit 68.7 billion colors / 100% P3 wide color gamut, adopts 1920Hz PWM dimming, and SGS low blue light certification. First-sale users can get a free broken screen saver, and the broken screen can be replaced with a new one for free within one year.

The body of the Redmi Note 12 Turbo phone is as thin as 7.9mm and as light as 181g. It has a built-in 5000mAh battery and lasts for 1.33 days.

While Google launched the January security update, it also launched the January Pixel Feature Drop for the Pixel 6/7 series models, providing spatial audio support for eligible headphones.

 Spatial Audio

Spatial audio, popularized by Apple’s AirPods Pro, is primarily about simulating a multi-speaker surround sound environment. Google has been working on the feature for the past few months, introducing relevant code in the Android 13 QPR1 beta released in September last year. This feature was briefly launched in the stable version, but Google has since withdrawn it.

There are not many models currently enjoying this feature, only Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro (Pixel 6a is not supported for now), and Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro four models.

The change, first spotted by Esper.io’s Android expert Mishaal Rahman, brings a new Spatializer API to Android that headphones can take advantage of to create a more powerful soundstage. While it looks like many earbuds and headphones are supported, of course, Google’s own Pixel Buds Pro will (eventually) provide the best experience.
