]]> According to Japanese media reports, released in May Sharp AQUOS R7 today in the Japanese operator SoftBank opened for sale, priced at 189,360 yen (about $ 9335.45 yuan).

Techgoing learned that Sharp AQUOS R7 uses a 6.6-inch (WUXGA +) Pro IGZO OLED display that supports a variable refresh rate of 1 to 240Hz, peak brightness of 2000 nits, 1 billion colors, compatible with Dolby Vision, and both the display and the back are made of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus glass. As for the configuration, it is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, 12GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, retains 3.5mm headphone jack, supports 1TB of microSD card expansion and FeliCa function.

As for the camera, Sharp AQUOS R7 is equipped with a “newly developed 1-inch 47MP sensor”, according to the announcement. According to smhn.info, the Japanese media who got the phone, the camera is equipped with the same Sony IMX989 CMOS as the Xiaomi 12S Ultra.

It should be noted that the Sony IMX989 CMOS lens of the Xiaomi 12S Ultra is 50 megapixels, while the AQUOS R7 is 47.2 megapixels, indicating that Sharp has made a crop.

Techgoing has reported that Lei Jun revealed that Xiaomi’s camera department was involved in the IMX989 specification definition and part of the design and verification work. 15 million USD (about 100 million RMB) was spent on IMX989 development, with Xiaomi and Sony each bearing half of the cost. The Xiaomi 12S Ultra is the first imaging flagship to feature the mass-produced and shipping IMX989.
