Following the earnings release, Tesla made its first official announcement that the Tesla Model Y with the new 4680 battery pack was delivered to U.S. customers in the second quarter from the Giga Texsa Texas Superfacility.

Tesla claims that the 4680 battery pack single cell energy increased by 5 times, the whole vehicle range increased by 16%, the power is 6 times higher than the polar ear battery, power output is also 6 times higher, and higher density, only 950 cells, the energy density of about 330Wh/kg.

According to overseas owners, the 4680 battery pack can be charged to 97% in just 52 minutes and can still drive nearly 5 miles after the remaining power is shown to be zero.

The Giga Texas super factory covers an area of over 8 million square meters, 10 times larger than the Shanghai plant and more than twice as large as the Berlin super factory, and can roll out a new car every 45 seconds, with a planned annual production of 1 million vehicles.

According to Tesla’s latest statement, the Texas plant will reach the milestone of 1,000 vehicles per week in the next few months, with the potential to break production records in the second half of the year.
