Volkswagen Group said it will electrify the iconic American brand Scout into a standalone brand whose products will be designed and built specifically for the American market.

The Volkswagen Group acquired heavy-duty truck company Navistar in 2020, acquiring the rights to use the Scout brand.

This year, the Volkswagen Group announced that it will enter the field of electric trucks, Scout will become an independent company, and Scout-branded vehicles will be designed and manufactured in the United States for local customers.
