Samsung’s One UI 5.0 update based on Android 13 is in full swing and most of its supported phones are already running the latest Android version. Samsung is about to end the rollout of the Android 13 update. While the rollout went smoothly, some Fitbit Charge 5 and Fitbit Luxe users have reported syncing issues with the One UI 5.0 update.

According to multiple user reports, the syncing process for Fitbit Charge 5 and Fitbit Luxe stops abruptly on Samsung Galaxy devices, specifically Samsung Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Z Fold phones running One UI 5.0. Other devices can successfully complete the operation, but the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip and Z Fold series phones are having problems after upgrading to One UI 5.0.

Fitbit has officially acknowledged the problem after multiple users raised the issue. A Fitbit moderator said they have identified the root cause of the bug and are working on a fix that will be released sometime in early 2023.

The Fitbit moderator also offered a temporary solution, in the meantime, users can utilize a different phone, take the Fitbit app and try to sync their Fitbit Charge 5 or Fitbit Luxe watch. For some users, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 update F711BXXU3DVL9 / F711BOXM3DVL9 / F711BXXU3DVL9, released on December 23, also seems to address the issue.

The usual solutions used such as resetting the device, clearing the app cache, reinstalling the app, etc. did not help users with this sync issue.
