Due to the contraction of the consumer electronics market in recent months, many manufacturers’ phone and TV businesses have been affected to varying degrees by the hoarding of many products. Manufacturers often notify the supply chain to suspend purchases in order to clear their inventories.

According to Taiwan Economic Daily today, in order to reduce the inventory of TVs and phones, Samsung informed its supply chain in mid-June this year to suspend the shipment until the end of July. Then came the news that because the speed of inventory reduction is not as fast as expected, Samsung will suspend pulling for an additional month, and some products will not even be pulled until the end of this year.

According to reports citing Samsung supply chain sources, Samsung has now taken the lead in the TV business after 2 months of de-stocking. The original 16-week inventory cycle has now been reduced to about 8 weeks, gradually approaching a healthy 6-week inventory cycle. In particular, some high-end models of TV inventory have been greatly reduced and have gradually resumed normal pulling.

According to reports, industry insiders said that Samsung is currently only in the TV business to inventory results, phones are still in poor condition, with more inventory.

According to BUSINESSKOREA’s report on August 18, Samsung and LG’s global TV market share is gradually declining. In the first half of this year, Samsung’s market share was 31.6%, down 1.1 percentage points compared to the same period a year ago.
