Samsung announced at CES that more than 300 companies will soon adopt SmartThings technology. About 3,000 different categories of smart home devices, including air conditioners, smart door locks and lights, home appliances, automatic blinds and more, will support the SmartThings platform.

These thousands of devices will be compatible with the SmartThings app, enabling unprecedented brand freedom of choice. This is part of Samsung DX’s vision to create a rich device ecosystem and robust services for its customers. The company believes that this is one of the best measures to deal with sluggish sales in the current economic environment.

The Samsung DX division was established in December 2021 to unify disparate divisions such as the TV, smartphone and home appliance divisions into one entity that can develop a hassle-free connected experience.

The SmartThings Station announced by Samsung at CES 2023 may become the core of the smart home. It’s a wireless charger and SmartThings Hub device that analyzes the user’s behavior and adjusts smart home devices accordingly. Expanded partnerships with hundreds of smart home OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) will enrich the functionality of the Station.
