After months of testing Internet Explorer 19.0 on its Beta channel, Samsung is now ready to release the latest version to the public. Samsung Internet 19 is available for select markets, bringing a host of new security and privacy features, as well as improved Samsung Internet widgets.

As of now, Samsung Internet 19.0.1.2 appears to be available only to some Galaxy device users and should reach more users in the coming days.

The latest version of Samsung’s Internet browser changelog mentions three new features.

  • A new “private information” feature can be accessed on every website by clicking the lock icon in the URL bar.
  • Users can now check their recent search history through an improved widget.
  • Extensions can now be used when using Samsung Internet in private mode. To use this new feature, users must enable the “Allow use in private mode” option for each extension separately.

In addition to the above-mentioned additions, Samsung Internet 19 also adds security and privacy through a number of changes and new features.

  • Smart Anti-Tracking now intelligently identifies domains that use cross-site tracking. The tool can now block cookie access.
  • Users will be warned when they try to access known malicious sites.
  • Third-party applications are now allowed to provide filters for content blocking.

Samsung Internet 19.0.1.2 logs do not mention support for cross-platform bookmark synchronization with Google Chrome, but the feature is available in the Beta application. It is unclear if Samsung removed this feature from the public version of the Internet and kept it in the Beta.
