ASUS announced that the AM5 platform motherboard can support a single 48GB of memory, up to 192GB of DDR5 memory.

The test motherboard used by ASUS this time is the ROG Strix X670E-E Gaming WiFi, which uses the Ryzen 9 7950X processor and plugs in four 48GB DIMM memory, which is displayed as 192GB in the Win11 system.

AMD currently imposes certain restrictions on the AM5 platform, and only supports the use of memory sticks with three specifications of 8GB, 16GB and 32GB.

It was previously reported that AMD is developing AGESA BIOS firmware that will add support for 24 GB and 48 GB memory sticks. Motherboard vendors are expected to make the new BIOS available for download in April.

Asus says the X670E-E motherboard uses the latest version of the AGESA microcode test, and the system is stable enough to take screenshots of Windows 11 memory working with Task Manager and CPU-Z open at the same time.
