Yet another case of EV recall, this time relating to a Rivan steering problem affecting over 13,000 vehicles. Already the company has begun rolling out a recall to their customers that might be affected by this issue. From our findings, this issue is only plaguing a handful of vehicles, but the company is to recall a large amount to ensure all users are safe.

This is a delicate issue as it affects the ability to steer the vehicle in either direction, hence posing a great deal of danger to life. Despite this issue only being spotted in about seven electric vehicles, the company isn’t taking any chances as it recalls all deliveries it has made. The issue is due to the loose nature of a fastener that connects the steering knuckle to the upper control arm of the EVs.

The fix might just involve strengthening the grip of this fastener, hence improving its torque. So, once all EVs get back to Rivan the company can quickly fix this issue and ship the cars back to their respective owners. This quick fix will not only save lives but also shows Rivan’s commitment to ensuring the safety of its customers.

At the moment, Rivan offers two electric vehicles, the R1T pick-up truck and the R1S SUV, both of which make a bold statement in the industry. The EV manufacturer is stepping up its production to meet the growing need for its vehicles in the market. Despite being relatively young, the company has a goal to produce 25,000 pick-up electric trucks and SUVs in 2022 alone.
