Google today rolled out Android 13 QPR2 Beta 3 for eligible Pixel devices. This version (T2B3.230109.002) addresses several bugs, while optimizing performance and improving stability.

Android 13 QPR2 Beta 3 system images are available for Pixel 4a, Pixel 4a 5G, Pixel 5, Pixel 5a, Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, as well as in Android emulators.

Comparison of old and new interface

Some users found that the interface of Android 13 QPR2 Beta 3 to change wallpaper has changed.

It is worth noting that Android 13 QPR2 Beta 3 is still using the January 2023 security patch, which may be addressed in a later update (such as Beta 3.1).

Android 13 QPR2 will see a stable release in March.

The Android 13 QPR2 Beta 3 update addresses the following issues.

Developer-reported and user-reported issues
Fixes an issue where notifications in the notification group were sometimes displayed at right angles instead of rounded corners. (Issue #264287776, Issue #265529116)

Fixed an issue where information in the notification bar indicating an active VPN connection overlapped with information about an application with an active frontend service. (Issue#266075977)

Fixed an issue where the overflow menu could not be accessed when editing the Quick Settings tile. (Issue #263484657)

Fixed an issue that sometimes caused devices with vibration enabled to vibrate for too long after receiving a notification. (Issue #239676913)

Other Issues Resolved
Fixed an issue that sometimes caused the messaging app to crash or fail to send notifications.

Fixed a GPU issue that prevented the app from using certain visual effects.

Fixed an issue where the Quick Settings tile for a job profile was not being added after setting up a new device.

Fixed an issue that sometimes caused the Pixel launcher to crash when using the search bar in the app drawer.

Fixed an issue that sometimes prevented the device from being unlocked using a pattern after activating Google Assistant.

Fixed an issue in the com.android.qns system process that would sometimes cause a crash.

Fixed an issue in the Pixel launcher that caused Chinese text to be unrecognized when entered in the search bar of the app drawer.

Fixed an issue where the System Settings app would crash when entering and exiting Picture-in-Picture (PiP) mode from the app after changing screen orientation with a “Settings keep stopping” message, and then the System Settings app would not open.

Fixed an issue with the System UI that would sometimes cause it to crash due to a null pointer exception.

Fixed an issue where the connection status of Bluetooth devices sometimes did not match the actual device status.

Fixed an issue where the Pixel launcher would crash when a user clicked on a web search suggestion for a query term.

Fixed an issue that caused the status bar icon to overlap with the date text when the font and display settings were set to the maximum level on the device.

Starting today, Google is rolling out Android 13 for Pixel phones. The Android update further enhances the Material You theme introduced in Android 12, improves the existing privacy controls, and introduces the ability to copy and paste on supported Android devices. Google’s Android 13 release begins pushing to Pixel devices (with update)

Note that Google Pixel phones (with custom Tensor chips) – Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro or Pixel 6A – will not be able to be flashed back to Android 12 after upgrading to the official Android 13 release. A notification on Google’s developer site indicates that this is caused by a bootloader update.

"WARNING: The Android 13 update for the Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, and Pixel 6a includes a bootloader update that adds anti-rollback versioning capabilities. After brushing to Android 13 on these devices, you will not be able to brush to older versions of Android 12."

Also, if users have taken the Android 13 Beta test and want to opt-out of the quick update cycle without wiping their device, now is the time to do so. After updating your phone to the latest version of Android, simply visit the Google Beta website and unregister. On the other hand, if you stay in Beta, then you will get early access to the beta version of future new features of Android 13.

The Pixel 6 Pro has been found to be even worse than the previous iPhone, and now Google’s own son, the Pixel 6 Pro, is often not connected to the Internet. The editor directly said that this is the worst connectivity of all the phones he has experienced, but he used the Pixel 2 to Pixel 5 series as the main phone to use, but the Pixel 6 Pro turned over.

The Pixel 6 Pro’s bad signal problems include not being able to find the LTE network for a few minutes after leaving Wi-Fi, not being able to find the signal after leaving a subway station, and not being able to search for a signal even after opening Airplane Mode and then canceling it, which is not the case with other phones.

The main signal problem with the Pixel 6 Pro is that there is a problem switching between Wi-Fi and LTE signals, and the reason the author of the original article can still use it now is that he is at home most of the time even Wi-Fi.

The Pixel 6 Pro is Google’s flagship machine this year, priced at $899, about 6,000 yuan, but after the launch was spit out many times, the signal problem is not the first time the media criticism.
