Hewlett-Packard Co cut its full-year profit forecast on Tuesday, as the company faced more than a year of sluggish personal computer market and weak demand in the Chinese market, and the company’s shares fell in after-hours trading. up 5.2%.

Canalys today released a report saying that global shipments of personal computers (including tablets) fell 21 percent year-over-year to 105 million units in the fourth quarter of 2022. This brings PC and tablet shipments to 434 million units in 2022, down 13 percent from the nearly 500 million units shipped in 2021.

Canalys said tablet shipments remained resilient in the fourth quarter, up 1 percent year-over-year to 42.3 million units, for a total of 150 million units shipped by the end of 2022, down 5 percent compared to 2021.
