Marques Brownlee (MKBHD) has released a list of the best smartphones of 2022, in which the OnePlus 10T was named the Bust of the Year. The official tweet from OnePlus was then retweeted, saying “you’ll be proven wrong in 2023,” but embarrassingly the tweet was posted on an iPhone.

Max Brownlee sent a private message to the official OnePlus account after discovering the problem and shared this screenshot in a follow-up reply. After taking over Twitter, Max set up a special view of the volume of messages, and Brownlee’s tweets have now reached 182,000 with 175 comments.

One Plus officially confirmed the compatibility of its newly released 10T phone for North American carriers. Starting in the U.S., the OnePlus 10T will support 4G and 5G bands on all major U.S. carriers: Verizon, and T-Mobile for the first time, OnePlus will also support AT&T 5G networks. However, the OnePlus 10T does not support mmWave 5G.

In Canada, only Bell and Telus will support both 4G and 5G networks. Meanwhile, Rogers and Freedom customers can expect 4G support on the OnePlus 10T.

OnePlus will be available for pre-order in North America on OnePlus.com until September 28th. Public sales will begin on September 29 for $649 ($849 CAD) for the 8GB + 128GB version or $749 ($999 CAD) for the 16G + 256G version.

After September 8, users who pre-order the 256GB version will receive a free case or 80W charger. The free car charger promo box is only available on the official website, but users can still get a free memory upgrade when they pre-order on Amazon or Best Buy (from Sept. 1 to 28).

Once public sales begin on September 29, the OnePlus 10T will be available at OnePlus.com, Amazon.com, Best Buy, and T-Mobile.

OnePlus 10T phone was released earlier this August with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip, support for 150W Super VOOC charging, and optimizations for the device’s high performance. The OnePlus 10T features a 6.7-inch FHD+ Fluid AMOLED screen and a built-in 4800 mAh dual-cell battery.

Earlier this month, OnePlus released its annual flagship OnePlus 10T overseas, which corresponds to the China version of the OnePlus Ace Pro.

Last week, the OnePlus 10T was subjected to a series of durability tests by well-known YouTube channel JerryRigEverything, but it failed the bending test in the tests. The company responded by saying that the OnePlus 10T had been thoroughly tested before launch.

In a statement sent to Gadgets 360, OnePlus said, “The OnePlus 10T met or exceeded all of OnePlus’ extensive durability testing procedures, including the stress test, in which the device is suspended while weight is applied to the center of its front and back. The OnePlus 10T has enhanced structural engineering and can withstand more than 45 kg of external force in this test at OnePlus Labs.”

In JerryRigEverything’s break test, the plastic frame of the OnePlus 10T broke under pressure, with the fracture occurring below the camera module and above the battery. The machine seems to have lasted a bit longer than the OnePlus 10 Pro, though the break still occurred in the same area where the OnePlus 10 Pro broke.

The tests suggest that the phone’s internal layout doesn’t adequately account for this kind of bending, or that the company’s “enhanced structural engineering” still isn’t enough to pass the bending test.

It’s worth noting that the bending test is a bit extreme compared to real-world scenarios, but it still illustrates some of the strength deficiencies of the OnePlus 10T and OnePlus 10 Pro, as newer models like the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Google Pixel 6 Pro all pass the bending test.

The OnePlus 10T is now available for purchase as it has launched with core flagship performance. The processor on this smartphone is the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 bringing it in close competition with newer flagships. This device is the successor to the OnePlus 10 Pro which became available a few months ago. We will touch on the differences between these two devices in a bit. For now, let us delve into the specifications of this new flagship device.

OnePlus really put its time into the entire process leading to the launch of this device. From production to the publicity of this device, we can see the OnePlus magic on this device. Asides from the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 goodness, OnePlus also snaps on other amazing features. Here are the basic specifications of this device:

  • Screen: 6.7-inch Fluid AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate and 360Hz touch response.
  • Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1.
  • Storage: 8GB/128GB and 16GB/256GB storage variants.
  • Main Camera: Triple setup with a 50MP main camera, 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP macro camera.
  • Front Camera: 16MP front-facing camera.
  • Battery: 4800mAh battery with 125W fast charge.
  • Operating System: OxygenOS, running on Android 12.
  • Biometrics: Under display optical fingerprint sensor.

The major difference between this device and its predecessors is in its design and specifications. The design of the OnePlus 10 Pro is quite similar to this new device. But the torch ring on the 10 Pro is at the top corner of the camera cutout, while the 10T places it at the bottom of the camera cutout. Performance-wise, the 10 Pro uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, while the 10T uses the newer Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+. Pricing also holds some differences, as the new flagship is more affordable than its predecessor.

OnePlus 10T price and availability

Just like the colours, memory capacity as well comes in two options, the first being 8GB/128GB and the second being 16GB/256GB. Each storage option comes with a different price tag, both of which sit below the $750 price range. The 8GB/128GB option retails for $649 and the larger option is available for $749. Either purchase comes with full packaging, charging brick, USB-C cable, and the device in the box.

OnePlus has launched its latest model, the OnePlus 10T, and changed its launch strategy for the year to launch a non-Pro model in the second half of the year. This meant it had to cut some specs to achieve lower pricing, but the 10T actually beat the 10 Pro in some ways.

The OnePlus 10T comes with an OLED with a resolution of 1080 x 2412px, support for refresh rates of up to 120Hz and 10-bit color depth, and HDR10+ compliance. It measures 6.7 inches diagonally (the same as the 10 Pro), but with a standard OLED panel instead of the more advanced LTPO2.

Compared to the 10 Pro, the OnePlus 10T model in the U.S. market has a built-in Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip paired with 8GB or 16GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage, while the Indian market offers a 12GB/256GB option. At the launch, OnePlus also highlighted a new 3D cooling system.

To keep costs low, OnePlus has significantly downgraded the camera hardware compared to the 10 Pro. The advanced ultra wide-angle camera and 3x telephoto unit have been replaced with the usual 8MP ultra wide-angle and 2MP macro cameras. The good news is that the main Sony IMX766 sensor used in the 10 Pro is unchanged, and the f/1.8 aperture and optically stabilized lens have not been reduced. The front selfie camera is a 16-megapixel sensor with a large 1.0-micron pixel and f/2.4 aperture.

The OnePlus 10T has a 4800mAh battery, supports up to 150W SuperVOOC charging, and comes with a 160W power adapter, perhaps the same one used for the Realme GT Neo3 150W version. However, the charging power of the phone is capped at 125W in countries with a prevailing 110V voltage.

On the other hand, OnePlus has introduced a battery health engine that claims to greatly reduce battery wear and tear, and the battery can still maintain about 80% of its usable capacity after 1,600 charge cycles.

The OnePlus 10T is available in Moonstone Black and Jade Green body colors. Pre-orders in Europe starting today, with shipping beginning August 25. The base 8/128GB model is €699/£629, while the 12/256GB version is €799/£729. In the U.S., the 8/128GB model starts at $649 and the premium version at $749. Pre-orders open on September 1 at OnePlus stores, Amazon and Best Buy, while shipping begins on September 29.

OnePlus is all set to launch the OnePlus 10T smartphone. The device is hovering around the corners and isn’t too far from getting launched official. Now, the battery specifications of the upcoming OnePlus 10T have been confirmed. In addition, it will have a faster charging rate than the OnePlus 10 Pro, the company’s top-of-the-line model.

OnePlus 10T battery; what’s new?

The brand has officially started teasing some of the key specifications of the OnePlus 10T, in order to create enough hype in the market for the device. As a part of it, the battery details of the OnePlus 10T have been revealed officially by the brand. It will offer a 4800mAh battery, which is 200mAh smaller compared to the 5000mAh battery present on the OnePlus 10 Pro device.

OnePlus 10T

However, when it comes to charging, the 10T will offer a 150W SuperVOOC Endurance Edition charger, which will fuel up the device to 100 per cent in just 19 minutes. For reference, the 65W/80W charger present on the OnePlus 10 Pro takes around 35 minutes to fully charge the battery. This clarifies that even if battery life is a little smaller on the 10T, the charging rate is noticeable faster.

Additionally, the market and surroundings where the device is being charged will have a significant impact on the charging speed. For instance, the device will support fast wired charging up to 125W in North America. The room’s and the device’s ambient temperature will both have a significant impact on how quickly the device charges. The device will charge more quickly when the temperature will be low.

Numerous OnePlus devices are waiting in line to make their official debut. Prior to this, we learned about the OnePlus Nords Buds CE Wireless and the impending OnePlus 10T. The company has now announced the arrival of a new device bearing its logo. China will soon see the release of the OnePlus Ace Pro.

OnePlus Ace Pro launching on August 3rd, 2022

The brand had previously confirmed that they will debut the OnePlus 10T 5G and its all-new OxygenOS 13 officially on August 3rd, 2022. Now, the brand has scheduled another launch event which is going to take place just a few hours after the previously scheduled launch. The launch is all set to take place on 11 AM GMT (7 PM Beijing Time) in China. Obviously, both the launches will happen in a different place. One is happening in New York and the other in China.

OnePlus Ace Pro

However, the company will introduce the OnePlus Ace Pro device in China. According to rumours, it is simply the OnePlus 10T with a new name for the Chinese market. Similar technical features will be shared by the two devices. The software might have a difference, but otherwise nothing.

OnePlus is gearing up for the launch of the OnePlus 10T smartphone. The brand has previously confirmed that the OnePlus 10T will launch in New York on August 3rd, 2022. It will be the latest OnePlus device powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 chipset. The device will be priced below the flagship OnePlus 10 Pro.

OnePlus 10T Colour Variants

The OnePlus has officially confirmed that the upcoming OnePlus 10T will come in Moonstone Black and Jade Green colour variants. The Black variant of the device will have a rough finish on the back, somewhat like a replica of the sandstone finish which we had previously seen on the OnePlus One. It will, obviously, have a matte kind of finish giving it a premium look and feel.

OnePlus 10T

As for the Jade Green, it has a complete opposite plain and glossy finish on the rear panel. This type of finish is generally slippery on hand. However, it is liked by many users out there. The Green variant is much more simple and more straightforward. Both the variants look premium, depending upon the user’s choice.
