Starting in 2024, smart will use NVIDIA DRIVE Orin as the centralized computing platform for its newest models to support the brand’s own smart Pilot Assist system, bringing smarter assisted driving and a more reliable active safety product experience. At the same time, smart will work with NVIDIA to develop a new data center dedicated to smart driving, accelerating the development of high-level intelligent assisted driving systems and intelligent AI systems, and improving model training efficiency.

The high-performance NVIDIA DRIVE Orin is designed for “software-defined vehicles” and can be continuously optimized throughout the vehicle’s lifecycle through online upgrades of OTA software. With 254 TOPS (254 trillion operations per second), NVIDIA DRIVE Orin provides sufficient computing power for high-level intelligent driving assistance, confidence views, digital clusters, and AI cockpits, and is compliant with system safety standards such as ISO 26262 ASIL-D.

smart’s smart driving team members in Shanghai, Beijing and Hangzhou are working together to steadily advance the development progress.

According to smart China, a total of 3,616 units of smart Elf #1 were delivered in China from February 1 to 28, 2023. Since the start of deliveries on September 23rd last year, smart has delivered a total of 15,998 cars in China.
