Nextorage has launched the latest B1 Pro and B1 SE series of CFexpress Type B memory cards, which will be available starting in late December 2022 with a 5-year product warranty.

This series of memory cards support PCIe3.0 Nvme1.4 interface. The B1 Pro series (NX-B1PRO) is the fastest similar product in the world, with a reading speed of 1950MB/s and a writing speed of 1900MB/s. Continuous writing The speed can be maintained at 1800MB/s and supports the VPG400 standard.

According to reports, the B1 Pro series is optimized for 8K video recording using the latest high-performance mirrorless cameras and high-speed continuous shooting of RAW images, which can guarantee a minimum writing speed of more than 400 MB/s and has the specifications required for professional video shooting.

In addition, the B1 Pro series is equipped with Nextorage’s proprietary low-power technology “Dynamic Auto Power Save”, which can reduce power consumption by 68%, while reducing heat generation of the card itself.

The new product offers four versions of 165GB, 330GB, 660GB, and 1330GB, and the prices are as follows:

165GB version 27000 yen (about 1372 yuan)

330GB version 60,000 yen (about 3048 yuan)

660GB version 100,000 yen (about 5080 yuan)

1330GB version 200000 yen (about 10160 yuan)

The B1 SE series (NX-B1SE) series offers two capacities of 128 GB and 256 GB, respectively 10,000 and 20,000 yen, and is mainly used for high-quality still photography. The reading speed of this series of memory cards is also 1950 MB/s (128GB 1100 MB/s), the writing speed is 1100 MB/s (550 MB/s for 128GB), and the minimum continuous writing speed can be guaranteed to be above 200 MB/s (at least 100MB/s for 128GB), which helps Improve work efficiency.

Nextorage was established on October 1, 2019. It is a company specializing in the business of memory storage solutions. It is also a company composed of engineers and employees who have inherited Sony’s 20-year history of memory storage.

At the beginning of this year, Phison acquired the shares of the joint venture company Nextorage Corporation from its joint venture partner Japan’s Sony Storage Media Solutions Corporation (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sony Group Corporation), in order to continue to deepen the special customized high-end storage application market.

Nextorage, a memory manufacturer, just showed off some of the company’s upcoming products at the Tokyo Game Show 2022. In addition to the usual PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSDs, we also saw a new generation of PCIe 5.0 SKUs with transfer rates up to 10 GB/s. To ensure stable performance over time, manufacturers can equip high-performance SSDs with active or passive coolers, but here Nextorage only showed the latter.

One comes with a standard copper die and the other with a large heat sink. The height extending from the base plate allows for a larger portion of space inside the PC. Nextorage is still in the evaluation phase, however, so the images shown at TGS may not be the final shape.

In terms of specifications, the company’s next-generation PCIe 5.0 NVMe M.2 SSDs are capable of sequential reads and writes of 10,000 and 9,500 MB/s (2TB SKUs). The lower capacity 1TB SKU has sequential reads and writes of 9500 and 8500 MB/s.

In terms of flash memory, the PCIe 5.0 NVMe M.2 SSD series uses 176 layers of NAND particles, which explains why its speed does not exceed 10 GB/s.

These products are not only for desktop PCs, but also compatible with Sony PlayStation 5 game consoles.

In addition, Nextorage offers PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSDs with capacities up to 4TB for existing platforms, with read/write rates of 7300 and 6900 MB/s and random performance of millions of IOPS.
