GEC.inc fans announced in June last year that they would port the mobile games “Doom RPG” launched in 2005 and “Doom 2 RPG” launched in 2009 to the PC platform.

After nearly a year of hard work, the relevant porting work has finally been completed, and interested players can go to the Doomworld website to download these two games for free.

To run the mobile game Doom 2 RPG on PC, you need to download a compressed file first, which contains the Doom 2 RPG.ipa file of the iOS game, and you also need to visit the OpenAL official website to download the program. After the player has moved the .ipa file into the folder containing DoomIIRPG.exe, you can start the game.

GEC.inc enthusiasts use SDL2 and OpenAL (for audio) to reverse engineer the Doom 2 RPG mobile game. The unofficial PC version supports gamepads (including PlayStation and Xbox), keyboard controls, and touchscreens.

Netflix today announced the introduction of a new feature for its gaming service that will allow subscribers to create in-game nicknames when they play Netflix-exclusive games. As previously reported by foreign media outlet TechCrunch, the feature is in development and has been tested in games such as The Breach, Bowling Ballers, Mahjong Solitaire and Heads Up.

The option is now officially available for iOS and Android users. By creating a game nickname, Netflix subscribers can use the same user name for different Netflix games. Game nicknames can help identify players and show up in leaderboards for multiplayer games like Rival Pirates and other games like Dominoes Café and Lucky Luna.

Netflix also says that unified in-game nicknames can help players explore other players, make friends with them or play together. These social features have also recently been spotted in development, as references in the mobile app code suggest the company is looking at ways users can invite each other to play games, showing when they are online and their status, among other things. However, Netflix did not comment on the development at the time, saying only that it was “exploring different features to enrich the Netflix mobile experience”.
