The UM580 is an upgraded version of the UM560 mini PC with a more powerful CPU, a more powerful adapter, and a better heatsink. It is a versatile mini PC designed for use in various solutions such as gaming, home office, media center/HTPC, printer management PC, digital signage or enterprise IT solutions for mass deployment.

The AMD Ryzen 7 5800H is a high-performance octa-core processor from the Cezanne product line. It was originally designed for gaming laptops. But now Minicforum has found a way to put it in the UM580 mini PC. It’s 8 cores, and 16 threads. Its base clock is 3.2GHz, and the boost frequency can reach 4.4GHz. It has 16MB of L3 cache and 35W of TDP.

The main body of the computer is only 12.8 cm long, 12.66 cm wide and 4.65 cm high. It fully supports DDR4 dual channel memory up to 64Gb. It has an M.2 2280 PCIe slot and a 2.5″ SATA HDD slot for storage expansion (SATA 3.0 6.0Gb/s). Four monitors can be connected simultaneously using 2 HDMI ports and 2 USB-C ports. If customers buy 256G of storage or 512G of storage, it will come with Windows 11 Pro pre-installed.

Just like the UM560, the MINISFORUM UM580 also has an Alt-Mode USB-C port. Alt-Mode allows USB-C ports to transfer data/video over multiple interfaces, including the increasingly popular DisplayPort video interface. If the monitor supports USB PD (USB Power Delivery), the user can use this port to power the computer and transmit the video signal to the monitor at the same time, which makes the whole setup much simpler.

To support a more powerful CPU, a 100W GaN power adapter is included in the package. The bare metal price of the MINISFORUM UM580 is $439, the 8GB+256GB package is $499, the 16GB+256GB package is $519, the 16GB+512GB package is $549, and the 32GB+512GB package is $599.
