When thinking of the best budget Mini PCs in 2022 affordability, performance, and compatibility might be factors that come to mind. Well, mini PCs are generally smaller and more compact variants of the actual PCs, and their size aids them to occupy less space on the working station. Despite their small stature, these devices do not cut corners when it comes to their performance, in this article we will show off the best and most affordable options on the market. Limiting oneself to the more reputable brands will mean going up the price ladder, but the options on our list offer great performance on a budget.

CHUWI CoreBox 4th

Best Budget Mini PCs in 2020; CHUWI CoreBox 4th.
CoreBox 4th

CHUWI is not a novice when it comes to the manufacturing of mini PCs, as they have other products to their name with different prices and specifications. But the CoreBox 4th comes with a 12th generation Intel Core i3 processor and up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM for running those heavy programs and software without any hassle. This mini PC also supports a triple 4K display output, meaning that users can run the PC on three different PCs at the same time. Considering the power the CoreBox 4th generates, one might expect it to overheat, but with CHUWI’s heat dispensation technology, this mini PC stays cool.

Its storage is also expandable but comes with 512GB M.2 PCIe SSD fast storage and uses Intel UHD graphics. For connectivity, this mini PC supports WiFi 6 and comes with a total of 8 ports including a thunderbolt port, four USB 3.0 ports, and a 4K output port. The CoreBox 4th also comes with 8K video decoding, hence stepping up its performance and efficiency across various lines of usage like video editing, gaming, etc. For software, this piece ships with Windows 11 out of the box and retails for $349.

Geekom Mini IT8

This is the second entry on our list, and it cost more than the CHUWI CoreBox 4th with its 8th generation Intel Core i5 processor and 16GB of memory. There is support for over 4 displays with this Geekom Mini IT8 PC, and the company says that the concurrent running of these PCs will not affect performance. The PC also comes with an “ultra-quiet fan” that cools down the components while in use to avoid any case of overheating.

For storage, this mini PC comes with up to 512GB of M.2 PCIe SSD ROM which is also expandable depending on the user’s needs. Turning to its connectivity needs, this PC supports WiFi 5 and brings up to 12 ports among which are three USB 3.2 ports, two USB-C ports, and a few others. The Geekom Mini IT8 comes with Windows 11 Pro out of the box and also supports Ubuntu, it retails for $439. In close comparison, the CHUWI CoreBox 4th, although a cheaper alternative, comes with a better and more recent processor than the Geekom Mini IT8.

It comes with an AMD Ryzen 7 4700 CPU and up to 16GB worth of SO-DIMM DDR4 memory capacity. For this option, there is support for only two external displays via the HDMI port, like with the other two options on our list. There is also a heat-dispensation technology present on this mini PC to help reduce cases of overheating while the processor is in use.

For its storage, this mini PC comes with a ROM capacity of 500GB which is also expandable depending on the user’s needs. The connectivity features on the Beelink SER 4700U are WiFi 6E support and up to 9 connectivity ports which consist of various USB ports, a Type-C port, and others. This mini PC runs Windows 11 out of the box and retails for $359.

Considering that not everyone needs a multimedia console filled with RGB elements, mini PCs are becoming more popular in recent years. This article introduces Pix Nii, which has just launched a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo. It features a small form factor of 6.9 x 6.6 x 4.8 cm (2.7 x 2.6 x 1.9 inches) — less than half the size of competitors like the Minisforum H31G — and weighs less than 160 grams (5.6 ounces).

(From: Indiegogo)

The Pix Nii is equipped with a 3.3 GHz Intel Pentium N6005 processor with integrated Intel UHD Graphics core graphics. For storage, the Pix Nii offers 8 / 16GB DDR4 RAM + 256 / 512GB or 1TB SSD options, and supports 2TB microSD expansion.

For connectivity, it offers a pair of HDMI video out ports (supporting 4K @ 60Hz), Bluetooth 5.2 + Wi-Fi 6 wireless network adapter, dual USB 3.2, wired Ethernet, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

The compact size of the Pix Nii makes it ideal for on-the-go use, and although its focus is not on desktop gaming, it is capable of meeting most casual office use.

You can put it in your media center connected to a projector or easily make presentations between home and office, and the pricing is quite modest — starting at just $159 (~1073 RMB) for 8GB RAM + 512GB SSD.

Finally, Pix Nii is being crowdfunded on Indiegogo. Although the campaign is still 25 days away, the project has already reached ten times its expected fundraising goal. If all goes well, Pix Core will ship to early backers in December of this year.
