According to ET NEWS, LG Display has applied the latest Micro-Lens Array (MLA) technology on TVs to its gaming OLED panels to improve screen brightness and viewing angles.

LG’s latest OLED TV uses microlens array (MLA) technology. According to the official, a considerable part of the light generated by the organic light-emitting layer cannot be transmitted due to the internal reflection of the panel, so there are certain limitations in improving the brightness. LG Display has overcome this difficulty with Micro Lens Array (MLA, Micro Lens Array). This technology is to vapor-deposit self-illuminating organic matter on tiny protruding lens patterns that cannot be seen by the eyes, so as to achieve the maximum light-emitting effect. Based on the same brightness, the energy efficiency of products applying this difficult technology is increased by about 22%.

The LG 27GR95QE 27-inch OLED display is now available in China, with QHD 240Hz specifications, priced at 9,999 RMB. According to foreign media reports, although the brightness of this display is only marked at 200 nits, it can reach a peak brightness of 1,000 nits when displaying HDR content.
