League of Legends” today shared the planning of the new season 2023, introducing information about the heroes, backstory, and mode.

Fist said it will increase the frequency of updates to older heroes and game modes, so it may slow down the release of new heroes. It is also trying to speed up the Art and Sustainability Update (ASU), which is currently underway for Li Qing and Timo.

In terms of game modes, Fist says it is fully engaged in the development of new modes and needs to suspend support for existing rotation modes (Infinite Firepower, Infinite Chaos, Ultimate Magic Code, Clone Battle). In other words, there will be no other rotation modes until the new mode goes live in the summer. These modes will also return as soon as the 2v2v2v2 mode goes live later this year.

The 2v2v2v2 mode features four two-person teams, each picking their heroes and then going two-by-two against other teams through several rounds of competition. During the matchups, the heroes gradually increase in strength, gaining equipment, levels and a special ability called Hero Enhancement between rounds. After losing a certain number of rounds, the team is eliminated so you can immediately start lining up again.

Finally, Fist says it will update some of the old original artwork, starting with Lone Ranger Galen.

According to the official news of “League of Legends”, pre-season adjustments will be online in 2 days, Polar Smash mode will usher in upgrades, including adjustments to the value, the addition of defense tower ruins and Hex Portal.

Numerical adjustments.

  • Almighty Blood Draw and Life Steal on minions will be reduced by 50%.
  • Long-range damage modifications: Damage dealt by heroes with a current distance of 1000 units or more will be reduced by 15%. We will also further reduce damage from longer distances. Damage cuts within 1000-2000 units will range from 15-30%. This will significantly weaken skills that are farther away than ~ and are very repetitive. Please note that the above damage reduction does not affect ultimate skills.
  • The magic resistance bonus for melee heroes will be increased from 10 to 15.

Overall, these effects are designed to optimize some of the pain points in Polar Smash. Now shooters won’t be able to clear a lane and get their full life back, and resident AP Kasha’s super long-range consumption is no longer as effective.

Hex Portal (Frozen version)

Hex Portal will open at the start of the game and will teleport you from the Crystal Hub directly to your outer tower. After the outer tower is destroyed, Hex Portal will connect to your team’s crystal tower and last until the end of the game, helping your team to complete interesting flanking and desperate encirclement. You can also use the enemy’s Hex Portal.

Defensive Tower Ruins

In this version, defensive towers will collapse to the ground after being destroyed, leaving a pile of rubble that becomes a new terrain element. Officials hope the collapsed defense towers will create a more interesting scene on the map and add some variation to the regular straightforwardness of Polar Smash.

Overgrown bushes

The new bush is located on the lower side of the bridge and is just the right size to hide five people in. You can now move freely within the bushes and on both sides of the bridge.

Quality changes

Officially, there will be some small tweaks to the Polar Smash hero selection process in terms of usage experience! In the future, you will be able to see which teammates have purchased battle perks for the whole team.

There will also be additional parameters for battle perks to avoid “last-second” activation of perks so that all players can play with their favorite skins.

Another helpful upgrade for hero selection is the ability to see which heroes get a Hextech box when they get an S rating.

Polar Mayhem Special Champions Cup Tournament

The last Champions Cup was placed in Howling Abyss! This year’s Champions Cup is free to play, with 8 teams in each division, each playing 3 games. Each player will have 2 chances to replay each game.
