A test tool for Intel’s next-generation Battlemage GPU has been found online, and the tool will be used in 2024’s Arc-only graphics products.

Two test tools for the Battlemage GPU are now listed on the Intel DesigninTools webpage, BGA2362-BMG-X2 and BGA2727-BMG-X3-6CH. These tools are used for verification and testing purposes, but the BGA design also reveals some details.

The X2 tool comes in a 2362 BGA package and the X3 tool comes in a 2727 BGA package. An earlier report from Intel Alchemist (A-Series) indicated that the top-end ACM-G10 GPU chip used on the Alchemist A770 graphics card is packaged in a 2660 BGA package. This means that the package size of the second-generation GPU is expected to be larger than that of the A-series high-end GPU.

It should be noted that a larger package size does not necessarily mean a larger chip size, so accurate information has yet to be announced.

The information of the Battlemage GPU has been exposed many times. Taking BMG-G10 as an example, Its explosive specifications as follows:

Xe² HPG Architecture

 56 Xe cores

 448 XVE (EU)

 2 shaders per XVE

 112MB Adamantine Cache

 16GB 256bit GDDR6X video memory

 Up to 225W

Will be available in Q2 2024

RedGamingTech has shared a recent roadmap for Intel’s Arc graphics cards. The presentation shows that the next-generation Arc graphics card, codenamed Battlemage, will be available in Q2 2024.

The presentation shows that the Battlemage series will have double the number of Xe-Core compared to the ACM-G10 GPU. The flagship model, likely called BGM-G10, features up to 64 Xe-Cores.

It is also learned from the presentation that the Battlemage GPU also has a 256-bit memory bus and 48MB of L2 cache. The L2 cache will be smaller than the RTX 4080’s AD103 (64 MB), but the size of both will be closer.
