Infinix, a subsidiary of Transsion, today released its latest mid-range model, the Note 40 series, at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia, including the standard version, Note 40 Pro (4G/5G), and top-end models. Equipped with Note 40 Pro+.

Continuing the advantages of last year’s Note 30 series, the new Note 40 series models continue to be equipped with Infinix’s all-round flash charging technology, but this time it has received a major upgrade. Infinix All-Round Flash Charging 2.0 technology includes 100W multi-speed flash charging (which can boost the battery to 50% in as fast as 8 minutes) and magnetic flash charging functions. However, the biggest highlight of the new phone is the company’s first self-developed power management chip, Cheetah X1.

Infinix says its new power management chip performs a full 204% better than traditional chips. It is reported that due to the smaller chip size, the transmission distance of current inside the phone can be shortened. Infinix claims that shorter distances mean less heat, leading to improved overall performance.

The chip contains three functional modules covering many aspects. One of the modules can support multiple charging scenarios, which means the phone can handle multiple charging functions, such as multi-speed flash charging, power-saving direct charging, reverse charging, and even fast charging compatible with multiple protocols.

At the same time, the high-precision power detection function will monitor the power input of the phone in real time and automatically adjust settings to prevent overheating, thereby keeping the phone cool. In addition, the safety protection function also includes 63 different protection schemes to protect the entire charging process.

The wireless charging power has also been increased from 15W last year to 20W magnetic flash charging. Infinix also released a matching wireless charging kit – Infinix MagKit, which includes a phone magnetic protective case, MagPad charging pad and MagPower power bank, allowing users to enjoy the convenience of wireless charging.

According to Infinix, the Note 40 series can charge normally even in environments as low as -20°C. In addition, the new phone also supports the 2.0 power-saving direct charging function, which can filter the current and reduce the heat of the phone when the user is playing games or watching TV series.

Users can also charge other devices at speeds of up to 10W, wired or wirelessly. Thanks to support for the PD3.0 protocol, users can even charge their laptops using a phone charger.

In addition to the Cheetah X1 chip, the Note 40 Pro and Note 40 Pro+ are also powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7020 processor. The standard version, on the other hand, only comes with a Helio G99 processor. The Pro+ version has up to 24GB of running memory and 256GB of storage space, while the standard and Pro versions have a memory limit of 16GB.

In terms of other functions, this series of phones has many popular configurations, such as the standard 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED display of the whole series, which is covered with Corning Gorilla G55 glass and the screen adopts a 55-degree curved surface design. The Pro+ version comes with a 4600mAh battery, while the Pro and Standard versions have 5000mAh batteries.

Infinix has also launched a new feature called “Active Halo” that incorporates artificial intelligence and design elements. This feature lights up the camera module with realistic pulsing light effects, adding a new visual experience to the Note 40 series. The lighting will change according to the user’s usage scenarios, such as incoming calls, notifications, games, music playback, phone charging, or using the voice assistant Folax.

In terms of cameras, this series of phones is equipped with advanced in-sensor zoom technology, which allows users to easily take close-up close-ups. The rear main camera is 108MP and can achieve 3x lossless super zoom. Pro series models also support optical image stabilization, bringing a more stable photography experience. The front camera is 32MP, which can meet users’ selfie needs.

The Note 40 series will be available globally from March 19 in retro green, obsidian black and titanium color options. In addition, Infinix will also work with BMW DesignWorks to launch a special edition racing color model in the middle of the year, which is expected to be launched in the middle of the year.

The standard version of Note 40 starts at $199 (Note: currently about 1,433 yuan), the Note 40 Pro is $259 (currently about 1,865 yuan), and the Note 40 Pro 5G is $289 (currently about 2,081 yuan) ). The top-of-the-line Note 40 Pro+ 5G is priced at $309 (currently about 2,225 yuan). All models are pre-installed with the Infinix XOS 14 operating system based on Android 14, and the Pro series models will also enjoy two years of Android system upgrade services.

Infinix has gradually established its reputation in the smartphone market in recent years, and design is a key part of the rise of this brand. The smartphone brand, owned by Infinix Holdings, has recently launched a technology called 3D Lighting Leather, which pairs colorful LED lights with translucent thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) leather on the edge of the phone’s back cover.

This new technology uses a four-layer structure. The bottom layer is an LED light guide film (LFG) base layer, which is coated with light-blocking paint to enhance its light transmittance. The center is clear fiberglass, allowing LED lights to shine through the translucent TPU leather. Infinix plans to combine this new 3D Lighting Leather technology with sound effects to provide dynamic notifications and reminders for various apps.

3D Lighting Leather technology will debut on the Infinix Note 30 VIP Special Edition model later this month.

According to the 2020 SuperData Research report, the value of the global game market reached US$159 billion, eight times that of the music industry (US$19.1 billion), and four times that of the film industry (US$41.7 billion) times. Among them, the e-sports industry contributed $1.1 billion in revenue, which also explains why gaming phones have emerged in an endless stream recently. Infinix recently launched the company’s first phone designed specifically for gaming, called the GT 10 Pro.

The GT 10 Pro is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 8050 chip with a 6-nanometer process, which has 4+4 A78 and A55 cores, the highest frequency of which reaches 3.0GHz, and is equipped with a 9-core Mali-G77 GPU, as well as 8GB LPDDR4X memory and 256GB UFS 3.1 Storage Space. In addition, microSD card expansion of up to 1TB and 8GB of virtual memory are supported.

In addition to chips, another important part of gaming phones is the display. The GT 10 Pro is equipped with a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels (20:9), supports three refresh rates of 120Hz, 90Hz and 60Hz, and has a touch sampling rate of 360Hz. This is a 10-bit color depth panel with narrow borders, a peak brightness of 900 nits, and a 1920Hz high-frequency PWM dimming technology. The screen has a built-in fingerprint reader, as well as proximity and light sensors.

The battery capacity of the GT 10 Pro is 5000mAh, and it supports bypass charging technology – that is, the USB Power Delivery 3.0 charger can be used to bypass the battery and directly power the phone, which can reduce heat generation during gaming and extend battery life. In addition, the machine supports PD charging up to 45W.

In terms of audio, the GT 10 Pro has stereo speakers and a 3.5mm headphone jack. There’s also a 4D vibration engine that enhances audio with haptic feedback.

The Infinix GT 10 Pro is available in two colors: Cyber Black and Phantom Silver. The design has elements of cyberpunk, and it has a customizable mini-LED light. A protective case is also included in the box to make the phone more non-slip.

In terms of cameras, the new phone has a 108MP main camera (f/1.75 aperture, 1/1.67-inch sensor) on the rear, and two 2MP auxiliary cameras; there is a 32MP selfie camera on the front. The rear camera is equipped with four LED flashes, the front camera has two LED lights, and both cameras support video recording at up to 2K / 30fps or 1080p / 60fps.

The Infinix GT 10 Pro runs the Pure XOS 13 system based on Android 13. It’s called “pure” because Infinix says it has fewer pre-installed apps and no ads.

The packaging box of the GT 10 Pro is also very characteristic. Infinix specially designed this paper box so that it can be turned into a passive sound amplifier / charging stand. It’s a clever design that reuses the box and adds to the fun of the phone.

Infinix GT 10 Pro will be available in the near future, priced at about US$240-US$250 (There will be some differences in different regions).
