The hardware monitoring software HWiNFO V7.65 Build 5250 has now added support for the NVIDIA RTX 4080 SUPER graphics card. Previous news said that the RTX 4080 SUPER graphics card will be released in early 2024.

Reliable tipster “MEGAsizeGPU” broke the news this month that Nvidia will launch an upgraded version of the RTX 4080 graphics card in early 2024, which may be called RTX 4080 Super or RTX 4080 Ti. The new graphics card will be equipped with the larger AD102 GPU, power consumption will be below 450W, and the price will be the same as the current RTX 4080.

Later, Benchlife broke the news that the RTX 4080 will use 20GB GDDR6X video memory. The latest news is that the new RTX 4080 SUPER has been added to the PCI ID database, showing that it uses the AD103 GPU core and has a PCI ID of 2703.

Nvidia launched the RTX 4080 graphics card last year, priced at 9,499 yuan in China. In terms of parameters, the RTX 4080 has 9728 CUDA cores and 16 GB of high-speed Micron GDDR6X video memory. Officially, the performance in modern games can be up to 2 times that of the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti; at lower power, the performance is better than the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti..

GIGABYTE announced a cooperation with HWiNFO: GIGABYTE motherboard platform BIOS and memory information with HWiNFO monitoring software depth integration, so that it can display more accurate, more comprehensive hardware information, and provide some exclusive features.

According to the report, when HWiNFO detects a GIGABYTE motherboard, it will automatically enable a themed skin with AORUS colors and features designed specifically for GIGABYTE users, optimized for both bright and dark modes.

One of the highlights of this partnership is the new Memory Timing feature, which now allows HWiNFO to monitor memory timing and obtain a wide range of data analytics on memory performance, enabling users to make informed decisions on optimizing memory configurations to improve system performance and stability.

Additionally, GIGABYTE has partnered exclusively with HWiNFO to develop a BIOS information readout function. This feature allows users to obtain detailed BIOS information directly from HWiNFO, allowing them to easily monitor and analyze their BIOS settings, firmware version and other important information for system maintenance and optimization.

Of course, these new features are only available on some motherboards with the new BIOS, and GIGABYTE will continue to expand its support for more chipsets in the future:

  • Intel Z790 / B760 / Z690 / B660 / H610 motherboards with a BIOS release date of 28 July 2023.
  • AMD X670 / B650 / A620 motherboards, beta BIOS date is 21 July 2023.

After Intel released its new generation of Xeon HEDT / Workstation processors W2400/3400, AMD seems to be releasing its new generation of thread rippers as well. The latest version of hardware monitoring software HWiNFO will provide optimized support for AMD’s new generation of thread rippers.

Last year, AMD reintroduced the original OEM-oriented Threadripper PRO 5000WX series processors to the DIY market. Moreover, AMD had made it clear that it had unified the Threadripper and Threadripper PRO product lines for enthusiasts and content creators, and that the Threadripper PRO platform would be the only one going forward.

However, with the launch of Intel’s new generation of Xeon HEDT / workstation processors W2400/3400, AMD may also enable both Threadripper and Threadripper PRO product lines to compete with Intel’s products.

According to tipster “g01d3nm4ng0”, AMD will release the Threadripper 7000 series processors codenamed “Storm Peak” later this year. The Thread Ripper 7000 series will include HEDT and workstation series, the former supports 4-channel memory, has 64 PCIe 5.0 lanes, and supports overclocking; the latter supports 8-channel memory, has 128 PCIe 5.0 lanes, and does not support overclocking.

AMD has already added support for its next-generation Zen 5 CPUs in monitoring software HWiNFO before it even started offering its Zen 4 CPUs. AMD’s first Zen 4 CPU series, codenamed Raphael, just entered the consumer market as the Ryzen 7000 series. Now, the company is planning to launch Genoa CPUs for EPYC and Phoenix Point/Dragon Range CPUs for Ryzen mobile series. However, this won’t be the end of Zen 4, there are several custom SOCs and Zen 4 V-Cache chips in the works.

But we do know that development of the next-generation Zen core is already underway, and since Zen 4 has been developed, work has now begun on Zen 5 and future chip architectures. HWiNFO is currently implementing early support for some Zen 5 CPU families. It’s likely that the software makers already have some information on product IDs and early data. Considering this is early support, there’s a lot more to come in the next few years. But with the next update, the software will have at least some basic support if Zen 5 starts to appear online, or if AMD engineers plan to use the software for hardware monitoring or diagnostics.

AMD is expected to launch Zen 5 in 2024, which will also have a 3D V-Cache version and will utilize the 4nm process node, while the compute-optimized Zen 5C will utilize the more advanced 3nm process node. Below is the full list of Zen CPU cores.

Zen 4 – 5nm (2022)

Zen 4 V-Cache 5nm (2023)

Zen 4C – 4nm (2023)

Zen 5 – 4nm (2024)

Zen 5 V-Cache – 4nm (2024+)

Zen 5C – 3nm – (2024+)

AMD confirmed that the new Zen 5 architecture will launch in 2024, confirming previous rumors. The Zen 5 CPUs will come in all three variants mentioned above, with the design of the chip itself based on an all-new microarchitecture focused on delivering enhanced performance and efficiency, a rearranged front-end, and integration with AI and machine learning optimizations broad issues together.
