Google yesterday released a new early stable version of Chrome (110.0.5481.77), which is now available to a small group of users and will be fully pushed out on February 7.

According to the official changelog, Chrome 110 already supports NVIDIA’s RTX Video Super Resolution (RTX VSR) technology, but still requires a new driver to work properly. In addition, it has now been officially confirmed that RTX VSR will only work if enabled manually by the user via the NVIDIA control panel, and will not be enabled by default.

NVIDIA announced this new RTX Video Super Resolution (RTX VSR) technology, the DLSS of video playback, during the GeForce Beyond live stream at CES 2023. The technology improves the quality of any video viewed in the browser by removing block compression artifacts and increasing the resolution of the video. The technology improves the sharpness and clarity of video, allowing online content to be viewed at its native resolution on a high-resolution display.

According to previous Nvidia official statements, owners of GeForce RTX 40 and RTX 30-series graphics cards can enable RTX video super-resolution starting this month, and the feature will later support RTX 20-series graphics cards.
