The Verge reports that Nvidia is upgrading its GeForce NOW cloud gaming platform to support 120FPS, 1440p resolution games in Chrome or Edge browsers.

With this upgrade, RTX 3080 “Maximum Performance” members of the GeForce Now cloud gaming platform can play in Chrome or Edge at 1440p resolution at 120FPS.

This RTX 3080 membership costs $19.99/month (about $136.09/month), or you can choose to pay half-yearly for $99.99 (about $680.69/half-year). This membership will give gamers an RTX 3080 level performance experience in addition to 2K 120FPS HD gaming. Previously, players had to download a dedicated Mac or Windows application to get 1440p resolution and 120fps support, and the network version is limited to 60fps, 1080p.

GeForce Now has two subscription levels: “Free” and “Priority”, with the “Priority” level costing $9 per month (about $61.27). The “Priority” level costs $9 per month (about RMB 61.27), supports up to 1080P resolution 60FPS output, and allows players to turn on optical tracking. The “Priority” slot allows for 6 hours of single play, and the RTX 3080 slot allows for 8 hours of single play.

GeForce NOW for the RTX 3080 slot is reportedly one of the best cloud gaming services available, thanks to latency improvements and support for ray tracing and 120FPS. These latency, performance, and resolution improvements extend to Chrome and Edge for even more gamers.

August 12 news, according to “Moore’s theorem is dead” news, NVIDIA is helping graphics card manufacturers to clear the inventory of RTX 30 series high-end graphics cards to make room for the RTX 40 series.

According to the report, NVIDIA has directly intervened to help the graphics card maker clear its inventory of GA102 GPU (RTX 3080 and RTX 3090) cards, thus allowing the RTX 40 series to have a larger volume of pre-orders. He said that even with the help of NVIDIA, it will take several months to completely clear the inventory of RTX 30 high-end graphics cards. In addition, graphics card manufacturers will “own” mid-range RTX 30 cards, such as RTX 3060 Ti and RTX 3070.

The media believe that if the next graphics card inventory remains high, AMD and NVIDIA will take “aggressive action” before the end of August, prices will continue to fall.

MSI, Sotera, MaxSun and other graphics card manufacturers have said that during the period from August 8, 2022, to August 28, 2022, players can get a free GeForce RTX 3080 and above graphics cards, including GeForce RTX 3080, 3080Ti, 3090, 3090Ti graphics cards or computer units, at designated event stores, worth 360 RMB worth of Blizzard game credits. This activity somewhat confirms the news that “Moore’s theorem is dead”.
