Samsung Galaxy S23 series has been released in the early hours of this morning, and now benchmark tests on the GPU performance of the new machine have been released and compared with the Galaxy S22 series with Exynos 2200 processor, and the results show that the GPU performance of Samsung’s new flagship has been significantly improved.

The software used for the tests was 3DMark Wild Life Extreme, which pushes GPU performance to its limits. The Samsung Galaxy S23 and S23+ scored 3,811 and 3,799 respectively, with an average frame rate of 20.80 for both phones, compared to the Galaxy S22+ with the Exynos 2200 SoC, which scored 1,689 and had an average frame rate of 10.10, giving the new flagship a relatively large lead.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra has an equally large lead over the Galaxy S22 Ultra, with the former scoring a maximum of 3874 points and reaching an average of 23.20 fps during the benchmark test, while the S22 Ultra scored 1912 points with an average frame rate of 11.40 fps.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 series is equipped with Samsung’s exclusive custom second-generation Snapdragon 8 mobile platform (for Galaxy), which not only increases the CPU main frequency to 3.36GHz but also its Adreno 740 GPU frequency from 680MHz to 719MHz. The Galaxy S22 series uses the Xclipse 920 GPU at 555MHz, a relatively large gap.

Samsung made a last-ditch attempt last year to partner with AMD on the RDNA2-based Xclipse GPU, but the strategy appears to have been ineffective, with the Exynos 2200 SoC and its Xclipse 920 GPU unable to compete with the second-generation Snapdragon 8 and the overclocked Adreno 740.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 series will be released on February 2. Samsung is bringing higher-quality video capture with its upcoming high-end phones.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra

Digital blogger @i Ice Universe has revealed that the portrait video quality of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra will be significantly improved, with Samsung’s next-generation flagship smartphone capable of recording portrait videos at 4K@30fps. This is much better than the 1080p@30fps video that the Galaxy S22 Ultra can shoot. It was also previously revealed that the Samsung Galaxy S23 series can record 8K@30fps video.

The leak claims that Samsung has not only improved the resolution but also the background separation and background blur quality in the portrait video mode of the Galaxy S23 Ultra. It’s unclear if all these improvements are limited to the Galaxy S23 Ultra, or if other models in the S23 lineup also have better portrait video quality.

All Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+ and Galaxy S23 Ultra devices sold worldwide will come with an overclocked version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip.

After the leaker Evan Blass (evleaks) shared the list of official protective cases for the Galaxy S23 series, the British technology media MobileFun once again shared the official protective cases for the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ models. Judging from the rendering of the protective case, these two models will use the same camera design as the Galaxy S23 Ultra, no longer using a raised overall camera module, but each independent camera unit.

Not everyone likes this kind of independent camera unit. Nicholas Sutrich, the editor of the foreign technology media Android Central, said when evaluating the Galaxy S22 Ultra that the independent camera unit will make more dust gather around the camera module. If the entire Galaxy S23 series adopts this design, it will definitely receive complaints from users.

Recent reports have revealed a lot of information about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S23 series. Like the Galaxy S22 lineup, the S23 series is comprised of three devices, such as the Galaxy S23, the Galaxy S23 Plus, and the Galaxy S23 Ultra. TechGoing brings to you an exclusive image that showcases the hard cases for the Galaxy S23 trio in a single frame.

In the image, the hard cases for the Galaxy S23 Plus, Galaxy S23 Ultra, and Galaxy S23 can be seen from left to the right. The cases for the S23 and S23+ look the same, which means that the S23 Plus edition will just be a bigger version of the regular S23.

The case of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra has two additional cutouts for the fourth camera and the laser autofocus unit. The image we’re showing here is just one more piece of evidence that the S23 series will look the same as the S22 series.

The Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra have all been certified by the 3C authority of China. The 3C certification is a good hint that the Galaxy S23 series may debut earlier than the S22 series. A South Korean publication recently said that the S23 lineup might come out in time for the shopping season at the end of the year.

Rumors are rife that the Galaxy S23 trio will retain most of the specs that were made available on the S22 series. The only major change to the S23 lineup will be the inclusion of the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Also, the Galaxy S23 Ultra will be Samsung’s first phone to feature a 200MP camera.

After the Galaxy S23 renders were revealed, today foreign tech media Smartprix, in collaboration with well-known tipster @Onleaks, has shared renders of the Galaxy S23 Plus. Compared to the Galaxy S22 Plus, the S23 Plus doesn’t have many changes to its appearance, only details that have been optimized and polished.

As the above renders show, the perforated front camera remains centered on the front of the device, but the front camera specs may be upgraded. The rear cameras on the back are all raised and vertically aligned, with the flash and the first camera aligned.

According to sources, the Galaxy S23 Ultra measures 157.7 x 76.1 x 7.6mm and comes with a 6.6-inch screen. The renders don’t reveal the screen’s resolution, panel material, refresh rate, or other details, but more information could leak out in the coming weeks.

There’s a USB-C port on the bottom, and as the Galaxy S23 renders, we find no physical SIM card tray, which could mean that Samsung could launch an eSIM-only model next year, at least for US customers.

The latest news claims that Samsung is stepping up its partnership with Qualcomm by launching the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus and Galaxy S23 Ultra with Qualcomm Snapdragon processors next year, instead of using its own Exynos chipset.
