Samsung Galaxy Note 20 was the last smartphone launched under the Galaxy Note lineup by the brand. The device was launched back in August 2020 and after that, we never get to see any Galaxy Note device. The brand has abandoned the lineup, but now we have got something to share regarding it? Is it going to be reborn or is completely dead? Let’s find out further in the post.

Galaxy Note Lineup; Is it going to be reborn?

Galaxy Note

The Samsung Mobile division’s head had recently commented on the Galaxy Note lineup series by saying “We have no plans to bring back the Galaxy Note lineup, but the legacy of the Galaxy Note series will be continued by the upcoming Galaxy S series of smartphones!”. This confirms that we will not get to see any Galaxy Note lineup of smartphones in near future, however, the Galaxy S lineup will fill the gap.

On the other hand, TM Roh has said that “starting this year, Galaxy Note will appear in the form of S Ultra every year.” Both the Galaxy S and Note series were the flagship lineup of smartphones by the brand, their decision to abandon the Note lineup and merge it with the S lineup may disappoint some users, while it may satisfy some.

Because Samsung gave the Galaxy S22 Ultra access to the recognisable S-pen, which was previously reserved for the Note lineup, it served as a de facto replacement for the Note series. As a result, we can assume that the Galaxy S23 Ultra will continue to be a Galaxy Note flagship in disguise while sporting a different name and keeping the dedicated S Pen holster.

As for the final words, we can draw the conclusion that the Note lineup is neither entirely dead nor entirely alive. They basically decided to stop producing the Note line and only produce the Galaxy S series as their sole flagship line. The legacy of both the S and Note series will, however, be carried on by the S series.

According to research by Counterpoint Research, 5 of Apple’s models led the global best-selling smartphones. Samsung wasn’t far behind with 4 models. Xiaomi rounded off the top 10 with one model. According to the Monthly Handset Sales Tracker for 2022, 21% of the market for smartphones was made up of the top 10 models.

Apple:

Apple continues to lead the pack, with its iPhone 13 models capturing the top three positions. The iPhone 13 particularly did well, taking the top spot and relegating its Pro variant to second place. The recently launched iPhone SE 2022 saw triple-digit MoM growth, entering the top 10 list.

Samsung:

Samsung captured four spots in the list, with its 2022 flagship, the Galaxy S22 Ultra, sitting at fifth overall. The S22 Ultra was designed to replace the Galaxy Note after a two-year hiatus and has become the go-to model for lovers of the Note series.

The Galaxy A-series devices, positioned at different price points and targeting different customers, helped Samsung capture another three spots. The newly launched Galaxy A13 looks to be replicating the success that the Galaxy A12 series had last year.

Xiaomi:

Despite flat sales in April, the Redmi Note 11 LTE, which contributed 11% to Xiaomi’s total sales, retained a spot on the top 10 list in April. With a quarter of all Note 11 LTEs having been sold in CALA in April, the region is emerging as one of Xiaomi’s key growth drivers. The brand has been facing supply issues and its overall sales declined by around 25% compared to April 2021.
