GAC AION released the magazine battery 2.0, and conducted a shooting test, and then will conduct a shooting test of the whole pack of ternary lithium batteries. According to reports, the magazine battery 2.0 will be the first to be equipped on Haobo models.

It should be noted that the shooting test is a demonstration of professional dangerous actions, and it is only for the purpose of explaining the test. It is not a weapon sale, please do not imitate it.

Magazine Technology 2.0 further improves the battery safety factor by optimizing the design of batteries, modules, and the entire package level. Compared with the previous generation, Magazine Technology 2.0 has an automatic fire extinguishing system, ultra-high heat-resistant and stable batteries, and ultra-stable electrode interfaces.

At the press conference, AION also announced the test report of the bullet shooting the fully charged battery pack. After the bullet was shot 15m away, it passed through the reserved shooting opening on the battery pack shell and pierced through 3 batteries, causing the batteries to instantly go inside. Short circuit and explosive damage, the battery pack only smoked but did not catch fire, and the temperature dropped to room temperature after standing for 24 hours, showing a very high safety factor.

The GAC AION Y pure electric SUV launched in March 2021 is equipped with a magazine battery for the first time (The battery is placed in the safety cabin, which looks like a magazine). The magazine battery technology is based on the design concept of “preventing short circuit in the cell, preventing thermal runaway after short circuit, and preventing heat spread after thermal runaway”. It adopts a design similar to a safety cabin, which can effectively block the spread of thermal runaway cells, and when detected When the battery voltage or temperature is abnormal, the battery rapid cooling system is automatically activated to cool the battery.
