]]> The recall of supercars is generally of the order of a few hundred units because of the small sales volume, while a one-time recall of tens of thousands of vehicles is really rare. A few days ago, it was reported that Ferrari will recall 23,555 cars in the U.S. The reason for the recall is that there are hidden problems with the vehicle’s braking system, which may lead to reduced braking performance or brake failure.

With over 20,000 cars hit, it’s not a small burden for Ferrari, knowing that Ferrari delivered just 11,155 units in global sales last year and this recall is the equivalent of two years of sales.

However, it is worth noting that Ferrari has previously been recalled because of this problem, while this recall is an expansion of the model range, the earliest model dating back to 2005.

The reason for the recall is that the vehicle’s brake fluid reservoir cap, which does not ensure proper ventilation required to maintain atmospheric pressure in the tank, could potentially increase the risk of brake fluid leakage, resulting in reduced braking performance or brake failure, a safety hazard. Ferrari will start the recall from September 24, 2022 and repair the vehicles free of charge.

In addition, in the Chinese market, Ferrari also issued a recall notice in April this year, the reasons for the recall are the same as this U.S. market.

Starting from May 30, some imported 458 Italia, 458 Speciale, 458 Speciale A, 458 Spider, 488 GTB and 488 Spider series cars produced between March 2, 2010 and March 12, 2019 are recalled, totaling 2,222 units.
