Rumors surrounding the next installment of BioWare’s Dragon Age are at their peak for the last few months. This is one of the highly anticipated RPG series that has been getting teasers, interviews, titbits regarding the story, and more. These details revealed nothing major as developer BioWare chose to stay silent on the matter. Now, it seems like BioWare is ready to break the vow of silence as the developer finally revealed the official title for the next Dragon Age aka Dragon Age 4 via a Twitter post. The game will be called Dragon Age: Dreadwolf.

Bioware also shared a few story details via the tweet. The story of Dragon Age: Dreadwolf will be centered around a man named Solas. The character reportedly has appeared in the previous installments. It will be clear to those who are familiar with the Dragon Age lore. But BioWare has confirmed that the moniker Dread Wolf refers to the Solas character, a party member in Dragon Age Inquisition.

The post also clarified that, unlike in the previous games, Solas won’t be helping the protagonists with their journey. He will be thwarting them. This character is an elven mage who has transformed from a hero to a villain. BioWare describes him as an antagonist who has inscrutable motives and questionable methods.

BioWare has also assured the players that the game will be welcoming for both old and new players. It doesn’t matter if the player has met the Solas character in a previous Dragon Age game. The character will introduce himself in a fitting scenario.

The post also discloses a few details on the game’s launch. Dragon Age: Dreadwolf will not be released this year. This is not surprising as the game is still in its early development phase. But it’s not all bad news. BioWare is planning some sort of a reveal for this year. We are not sure what BioWare will give us but given how long ago the game was teased, a good gameplay trailer or a cinematic trailer seems like a safe bet.
