“Diablo 4” second round of the public test “Server Slam” is now in the early morning of May 13 open free trial. According to the foreign media Wccftech, this version supports Nvidia DLSS 3 / DLAA technology, RTX 4090 graphics card can reach 4K 188fps.

As shown above, with DLSS 3 frame generation technology enabled, the RTX 4090 can run the game at 4K maximum quality up to 188.6fps, an increase of more than 30 fps or 19.5% over turning off DLSS 3 frame generation technology. 0.2% minimum frame increase of 45.6fps or 47.4%.

According to the introduction, in addition to the latest DLSS (Deep Learning Oversampling) 3 technology, NVIDIA and Blizzard Entertainment have implemented DLAA (Deep Learning Anti-Aliasing) in the game, which can use Tensor Core to enhance anti-aliasing and provide sharper image quality.

Diablo IV has opened for public beta testing and was officially released on June 6.

Nvidia and CDPR previously announced the launch of “Overdrive mode” for Cyberpunk 2077 ray tracing, which brings panoramic ray tracing (also known as “path tracing”) to Cyberpunk 2077, making the ray tracing effect greatly improved. This mode brings panoramic ray tracing (also known as “path tracing”) to Cyberpunk: 2077, making the ray tracing effect significantly better.

Yesterday, NVIDIA officially released the “Cyberpunk 2077” panoramic ray tracing live demo comparison video, using RTX 4090 + DLSS 3 live recording, Can see the difference between the effects of the two ray tracing technology in the video.

NVIDIA said that panoramic ray tracing can model the light properties of almost any number of self-luminous light sources, forming physically correct shadows, reflections and global lighting on all objects.

Cyberpunk 2077 Ray Tracing: Overdrive Mode Technical Preview will be released on April 11 and will support panoramic ray tracing and performance multiplication via DLSS 3.

This is the fourth game to receive real-time path-tracking technology, following My World (Minecraft), Portal and Thor’s Hammer (Quake).

Ray tracing and path tracing are two popular methods used in computer graphics to simulate the behaviour of light in virtual environments. Ray tracing is a deterministic process that involves tracking the path of light and its interactions. This technique requires significant processing power and has the advantage of producing high-quality images with accurate reflections, refractions, and shadows.

In contrast, path tracing is a stochastic computational process that involves sampling the path of light as it passes through the scene. This technique is less computationally expensive than ray tracing, but it generates image noise and requires several iterations to converge to high-quality results. Path tracing is typically used in applications that require physically accurate simulations of light, such as architectural visualization and product design.
