When the Bose QuietComfort 35 II was replaced by the QuietComfort 45 last year, it became clear that this was already a very old product, and now it seems to be showing signs of renewal: another SE model has been released, which appears to be a reinvention of the 45, and interestingly enough, it’s a silent release for the officials, with the product itself already available in several US stores (and should be coming to Europe soon).

The Bose QuietComfort SE can play for 24 hours on a single 2.5-hour charge (up from 20 hours on the 35 II model and in line with the 45), and a quick 15-minute charge is enough for 3 hours. And the latest hardware improvement is that the 35 II’s micro-USB charging port will be replaced by USB-C (just like the 45).

As with previous models, QuietComfort SE features high-quality active noise cancellation, which, along with other features such as Aware mode (Bose’s term for ambient mode), are operated via hardware buttons rather than touch controls. Of course, it supports control with a mobile app that allows users to adjust settings like an equalizer.

The retail package includes a protective carrying case, the headphones themselves, a USB A-C cable and a 3.5mm to 2.5mm audio cable.

As is typical of the series, it is designed to be lightweight and comfortable, and can also be folded flat for increased portability. the Bose QuietComfort SE is expected to be available soon in the US (in a few days) for $330, and later in Europe for €350 – these prices are the same as when the QC 45 was launched.
