The Banana Pi BPI-R3 Mini development board is equipped with a MediaTek Filogic processor, four Cortex-A53 cores, 2GHz frequency, 2GB DDR4 memory and 8GB eMMC flash memory; comes with an MT7976C chip that supports WiFi 6, uses DC power input, and comes with a Nano SIM card slot.

This development board comes with 2 2.5G network ports, 1 USB-C interface supports USB2.0 transmission specification; the board comes with M.2 B-Key 2230 slot and M-Key slot, the latter supports M.2 3052 USB 3.0 module of 5G NR module.

The Banana Pi BPI-R4 motherboard is equipped with MediaTek MT7988A (Filogic 880), which uses 4 ARM Corex-A73 design cores with a clock frequency of 1.8GHz.

The motherboard is equipped with 4GB DDR4 memory, 8GB eMMC, onboard 128MB SPI-NAND flash memory, 2 10G SFP optical ports, and 4 Gigabit network ports.

The motherboard is equipped with a USB3.2 port, the M.2 slot supports 4G / 5G / NVME SSD, and there are also 2 miniPCIe slots that support PCIe 3.0 dual-channel, which can be used to expand Wi-Fi 7 support.

Banana Pi plans to launch BPI-R4 in the first quarter of 2024. It is estimated to support Debian and Openwrt. The official price has not been disclosed.

According to the introduction, the BPI-M6 CPU consists of four 64-bit Cortex-A73 cores at 2.1 GHz and one Cortex M3 core, similar to Apple’s M9 coprocessor, which is more powerful than the Raspberry Pi 4 CPU.

IT House has learned that the board is equipped with the Imagination GE9920 GPU and 6.75 TOPS NPU. The CPU, GPU, and NPU are bundled in a package called the VideoSmart VS680, which also comes with 4GB of LPDDR4 memory and 16GB of eMMC flash memory (up to 64GB), a Micro SD slot, and an M.2 slot on the back of the board that supports Key E devices.

In addition, the board is equipped with two micro-HDMI ports, as well as four USB 3.0 ports, a Gigabit Ethernet port, 40 GPIO pins, and a USB-C power supply port.

Banana Pi has not yet announced the pricing and availability of the BPI-M6, so IT home partners who need it can wait for a wave.
