MSI announced that it will launch a one-button cooling overclocking feature for its B660 and B760 motherboards.

According to the introduction, with the B series chipset open memory overclocking function, as well as the motherboard power supply more and more powerful, these years there are many users choose to use the B660 and B760 motherboard to match the 13th generation Core processors. But in use many people found that the default motherboard to the higher voltage, resulting in CPU power consumption and heat more obvious.

The CPU’s power consumption is directly related to the load and voltage, the higher the voltage the higher the power consumption and temperature, so many people will try the minimum stable and stable voltage when overclocking. b head chipset due to the lack of CEP current overload protection, resulting in a drop in CPU performance once the voltage is adjusted down. Therefore, in general, B chipset with 13th generation Core CPU will have higher voltage and temperature problems.

MSI said that a new feature will soon be introduced for the B660 and B760 motherboard, simply put, this feature will allow the CPU voltage to be lowered to maintain or even improve performance, to achieve the effect of voltage reduction without lowering performance,

The list of supported motherboards is as follows:

  • MEG Z790 GODLIKE Super God
  • MEG Z790 ACE God of War
  • MPG Z790 I EDGE WIFI Blade
  • MAG B760M MORTAR MAX WIFI Mortar
  • MAG B760M MORTAR MAX WIFI DDR4 Mortar
  • MEG Z690 GODLIKE Super God
  • meg z690 ace war god
  • MEG Z690 UNIFY Shadow
  • MEG Z690 UNIFY-X Shadow
  • MEG Z690 I UNIFY Shadow
  • MAG B660M MORTAR MAX WIFI DDR4 Mortar

MSI said that the new BIOS version is currently under intense testing on multiple platforms, and the BIOS with this feature will be available for download one after another, and the details will be officially announced later, so stay tuned.

A channel provider from Bobantang broke the news that Intel has already finalized the B760 to officially start selling on January 5, and brand motherboard manufacturers will receive the goods around December 20. The factory will ship goods one after another at the time point, and the national general agent is required to distribute the goods to the channel market, and the on-time sale will only be allowed on January 5.

In addition, according to internal notices from Intel and brand manufacturers, the positioning of the B760 series has been raised, and it will be shipped at a price that is about 10% more expensive than the B660 series.

Intel’s 13th-generation Core and Z790 platforms were released at the end of September this year, and the new platform is currently on the market.

On the previous generation platform, the Z690 / B660 / H610 chipset brings support for DDR5 memory and PCIe 5.0, but the mid-range entry-level lacks support for overclocking features compared to flagship products, and the PCIe channel and DMI bus are also reduced , In addition, there are still some differences in power supply specifications and scalability. It is expected that this year’s B760 will continue this trend.
