Recently, the last Audi TT rolled off the assembly line at the Hungarian factory. This classic little sports car was first unveiled as a concept car at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1995. The production version was officially put into production in 1998. In 25 years, three generations of models were launched, with a total of 662,762 units produced. Audi said that the TT may become an electric car in the future.

According to motor.es report, Audi’s performance small steel gun TT confirmed will be launched pure electric version, the new car will be based on the new PPE pure electric platform to build, and adopt a more modern exterior design style.

Markus Duesmann, the head of Audi, said that the Audi TT will be 100% electric and will maintain the driving pleasure it has always offered to its customers. No official date was given for the launch of the new car, which is expected to take place at least until 2025.

Duesmann also said that the electric sports car will offer “a concept quite similar to the TT, but not necessarily its successor”, so it is expected to be a more modern design with very compact proportions and a similar style to the e-tron.

The pure electric version of the TT will be based on the new “PPE” Premium electric vehicle platform and will share the same chassis structure as the future Porsche 718 model. Power has yet to be announced, with the PPE platform offering front- or rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive options, so it’s all possible.
