Recently, the topic of slowing down electric vehicles in Europe and the United States has been amplified. In this regard, Audi CEO Gaudenault said at the communication meeting after the Audi financial report conference, “Audi will adopt pure electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid vehicles.” , fuel vehicles, Audi will still launch a new generation of fuel vehicles and plug-in hybrid models in 2026, and launch pure electric models in all market segments in 2027.”

“Chairman of the Board of Management of Audi AG and CEO of Audi Gaudno (first from right)”

However, Gaudnault reiterated that future cars belong to the electrification era, and this has not changed. The new generation of fuel vehicles launched by Audi in 2026 will also be the last generation. Subsequent updates of fuel vehicles will be suspended. However, it may be based on specific conditions. Make a decision based on the situation.

“New Q5 hypothetical picture”

For Audi, fuel vehicles have not been abandoned at the moment. Audi will also launch a PPC high-end luxury fuel vehicle platform similar to PPE, and the new Q5 and new A6 will be born on this platform. In terms of electric vehicles, the Q6 e-tron is just the beginning. Audi will launch more than 20 new cars in 2024-2025, and the Audi A6 e-tron will be launched in the summer of 2025. At the same time, Audi also plans to launch RS series models on the PPE platform in the future. In 2025, Audi will also launch a compact car smaller than the Q4 e-tron on the MEB platform, and the price will also be a new attraction.

“Audi Q6 e-tron”

Gaudno once again emphasized its current position in the Chinese market. Audi will build a Changchun PPE factory by the end of 2024 and launch Q6L e-tron and A6 e-tron models. At the same time, it will work with SAIC to develop new electric vehicles locally. Audi will work with SAIC to develop intelligent connected electric vehicles to attract more young user groups. In the future, Audi and SAIC will join forces in technology to create better products in terms of design, driving control, quality and other aspects. In addition, Audi will continue to bring the latest fuel vehicles to China. Audi will also strengthen its research and development capabilities in China.

“Audi A6 e-tron concept car”

After the epidemic, Audi has seen the rapid iteration of Chinese brand cars, especially in new energy vehicles. In this regard, Audi is actively adjusting its strategy, optimistically dealing with Chinese opponents, and focusing on smart cars to catch up with China’s progress. However, Gaudnault is very confident in the electric vehicles built on the PPE platform. Taking the Q6 e-tron as an example, Gaudnault believes that its advantages lie in design, quality, performance, driving, power, charging, and cruising range. Excellent performance. Audi has its own competitive advantages and at the same time provides excellent service to its customers.

Gaudino is not worried about the Chinese market, because Audi has delivered satisfactory results in China in 2023. Audi sold 733,000 cars in China, a year-on-year increase of 13%, which shows that Audi is capable of competing in China.

At the same time, regarding the entry of Chinese brand cars into Europe, Audi said that it is not worried about competition because Audi’s products are excellent and it will accept challenges from Chinese brands. “Audi opposes trade protectionism and trade barriers. It is wrong to close ourselves off. Facing competition directly and having successful products is the key.” Gaudno said.

The Audi A6 e-tron is getting closer. Recently, a spy photographer captured a prototype with almost no camouflage.

It is noticed that the photo shows the Avant station wagon model, which will become the electric version of the fuel-powered A7. It follows Audi’s re-adjusted naming scheme and adopts a closed grille design with split headlights on both sides. Paired with air intakes and air guide grooves, the overall look is sporty and simple.

The streamlined design runs through the body. The car is equipped with electronic exterior mirrors and minimalist door handles. The body lines are smooth, the rear is muscular, the waistline extends upward, and it is full of sportiness.

At the rear, the slender taillights and sloping rear window with aerodynamic kit are eye-catching. Designers also gave the new car a striking diffuser and a curvaceous rear bumper.

Although no photos of the car’s interior have been captured, the A6 e-tron Avant’s cabin may borrow design from the Q6 e-tron, with an 11.9-inch digital instrument panel, a 14.5-inch infotainment system and a 10.9-inch passenger display.

At present, the official has not released much information about the new car, but it can be confirmed that this station wagon will be built based on the new PPE platform. The power system may also be similar to the Q6 e-tron, equipped with a 100kWh battery pack and a dual-motor all-wheel drive system, with a maximum power of about 375 horsepower and a WLTP cruising range of about 600 kilometers. The previously unveiled A6 e-tron concept car has a dual-motor all-wheel drive system that can output 469 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque, and has a WLTP cruising range of more than 700 kilometers.

The Audi RS6 is a high-performance model owned by Audi. Since 2010, there has only been an Avant version. The last RS6 sedan was produced in 2010, powered by the same V10 engine found in the Lamborghini Gallardo and Audi R8.

However, according to British media AutoCar, the Audi RS6 sedan will return to the market in 2025, when the car will be an all-electric model. The electric Audi RS6 sedan will arrive a year after the A6 e-tron and is expected to be more powerful than the petrol RS6 currently on sale.

Like the A6 e-tron, the electric RS6 will be based on the Volkswagen Group’s new Premium Platform Electric (PPE) chassis. The first vehicle to use the platform will be the Porsche Macan EV, which will be unveiled by the end of the year.

Audi showed a concept version of the A6 e-tron in 2021, claiming that it has a range of up to 435 miles, far exceeding any of Audi’s current electric models. Audi also says the A6 e-tron can support 270-kilowatt fast charging, adding 186 miles (300 kilometers) of range in just 10 minutes. The dual-motor A6 e-tron will have around 470 horsepower and will sprint to 60 mph (96 km/h) in just four seconds. In addition, Audi will also offer an entry-level rear-wheel-drive model.

If the electric RS6 is to be competitive in an increasingly fierce competition, it is expected to boast at least more than 700 horsepower and a 0-60 mph time of under 3 seconds.

Audi’s electric revolution continues, with spy photos of the A6 e-tron being tested at the Nürburgring already leaking online.

In terms of exterior design, the Audi A6 e-tron will use embedded split headlights. At the same time, it can be seen that the body shape incorporates coupe elements, and the slip-back design of the C-pillar looks more sporty. Compared to last year’s concept car, the production model features conventional side mirrors and flush-mounted door handles.

The Audi A6 e-tron is built on the Advanced Electric Platform (PPE) platform, which will be used in B-, C- and D-class cars from 2023. The platform, co-developed with Porsche, is “generally similar” to the MEB platform, but more advanced because it features 800V technology and up to 350kW charging capacity. Audi also hinted that PPE-based vehicles could have features like air suspension, all-wheel steering, and torque vectoring.

Performance specifications for the Audi A6 e-tron are still unknown, but the A6 e-tron concept features a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system capable of producing a combined output of 469 horsepower and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque. The concept car also has a roughly 100 kWh battery pack with a WLTP range of more than 435 miles (700 kilometers).

It is unclear whether this powertrain will be offered in the production model, but Audi has confirmed that there will be several versions of the car, including a “base version optimized for low energy consumption and high range” that will use a rear-mounted The motor can accelerate from 100 kilometers in 7 seconds, and there will also be a high-performance version, which can accelerate from 100 kilometers in 4 seconds.
