Apple today pushed the macOS 13.4 update (internal version number: 22F66) to Mac computer users, 41 days after the last release.

Apple macOS Ventura 13.4

It should be noted that due to caching problems with Apple’s regional node server configurations, there may be a slight delay in detecting the update in some places, generally within half an hour, not too long.

macOS Ventura 13.4 main content is as follows:

  • Sports streaming in the Apple News sidebar gives you easy access to news, scores, standings and more for the teams and leagues you follow.
  • The “My Sports” scores and schedule card in Apple News take you directly to the sports page, where you can find additional details about specific events.
  • Fixes an issue with “Apple Watch Auto Unlock” not allowing you to sign in to your Mac.
  • Fixes a slow Bluetooth connection to the keyboard after a restart.
  • Fixed a VoiceOver issue during page navigation.
  • Fixed an issue where Screen Time would reset or fail to sync.

Apple today pushed out the macOS 13.4 Developer Preview Beta 4 update (internal version number: 22F5059b) to Mac computer users, seven days after the last release.

Apple macOS

macOS 13.4 Beta 4, like the iOS / iPadOS 16.5 Beta 4 update, does not introduce any new changes. The official changelog as follows:

Improved support for macOS 13.3 SDK for developing applications for Mac devices running macOS Ventura 13.4 Beta 4. The SDK comes bundled with Xcode 14.3 and is available for developers to download through the Mac App Store. For information on Xcode 14.3 compatibility requirements, see the Xcode 14.3 Release Notes.

Known Issue:

Apple Studio Display firmware update starts showing progress but never completes.

Solution:

Please click “More Info…” in the Software Update Settings in Software Update Settings, uncheck Apple Studio Display firmware updates, and click Install Now.
CSS

Problem solved:

Fixed an issue where increasing column count above 2 did not update the layout.
File Bookmark

Fixes a regression in macOS Ventura 13.3 where a security check caused bookmarks to fail to parse when the path contained a Unicode character stored using combinatorial normalization. For example, this prevented files in the Finder from opening when double-clicked.
SwiftUI

Fixed an issue where using ImageRenderer in ShareLink’s preview closure would crash a running application.
macOS 13.4 also simplifies beta installation:

When Apple introduced iOS 16.4, it introduced a new beta installation method for users participating in the Apple Developer Program or Public Beta. These changes initially applied only to iOS 16.4 and iPadOS 16.4, but Apple has now extended them to macOS 13.4 and watchOS 9.5 betas released to developers today.

Developers and public beta users participating in Apple’s corresponding program can turn on the beta update directly in System Settings on their Mac, or in the Software Update section of the Watch app on their iPhone. Apple’s new beta installation method replaces the previous description files used to install the watchOS and macOS updates for the developer and public betas.

On the developer side, enabling the beta now requires an Apple ID registered in the Apple Developer Program. developer descriptor files without an associated developer account are no longer available, so only registered developers will continue to have access to the developer beta. The same is true for the public beta, but participation in the public beta program is free and open to all, unlike the Developer Program, which requires a $99 annual fee.
