According to the latest chart released by Display Supply Chain Consultants, a screen supply chain consulting firm, screen orders for Apple’s iPhone 14 series models are expected to drop 39% year-over-year in April and 23% in the March-April period, compared to the iPhone 13 series.

The report notes that Apple has lowered its iPhone 14 series screen orders, mainly due to industry inventory adjustments, macroeconomic downturn, inflationary pressures and weak demand.

The supply chain report shows that iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max panel shipments are 22% and 23% higher than iPhone 13 Pro models, respectively.

The report also compares screen orders for the iPhone 14 Plus and iPhone 13 mini models, with the following conclusions: Screen shipments for the Plus models are up 59% compared to the mini models. This indicates that consumers are demanding more of the iPhone 14 Plus compared to the iPhone 13 mini.

According to a DIGITIMES research report, the supply chain industry believes that Apple’s rhythm in 2022 is “too good” compared to the Android cell phone camp’s discomfort, but predicts that the supply chain will be prepared for a squeeze on costs in 2023 due to the continued high cost of advanced semiconductor processes.

In 2022, the smartphone market was highly uncertain and the Android camp was hit by headwinds, including Samsung Electronics, Xiaomi, OPPO and other major manufacturers almost failed to reach the expected sales target, except for Apple’s iPhone 14 series, which stood firm against the trend and met the existing steady progress in sales volume and component shipments.

However, Foxconn’s main iPhone plant disruptions at the end of the year have affected iPhone 14 series production, and IC channel operators say they have heard that the assembly section has been affected, and expect some iPhone 14 series demand to be deferred until Q1 2023.

The IC channel operator, which represents Apple’s bulk RF communication chips, said that the iPhone 14 series in 2022 will have a slight decrease compared to 2021 in terms of component demand, but overall, the order visibility and rhythm are better than the highly unknown Android camp.

Foxconn’s Zhengzhou factory production iPhone sector is already recovering, with current capacity at about 70 percent, according to analysts and supply chain sources familiar with the matter. Meanwhile, Foxconn is still working on restoring the rest of its production capacity.

DXOMARK announced a total DXOMARK audio test score of 141 for the Apple iPhone 14.

The iPhone 14 is ranked 10th in the DXOMARK audio test, one point lower than the iPhone 14 Pro Max, which is ranked ninth.

DXOMARK officials say that, overall, there is little difference between the iPhone 14 series models in terms of audio performance. In terms of playback, the iPhone 14 has a very balanced performance across the board. It has an even richer midrange than the iPhone 14 Pro Max, and a very good sense of power and space. However, when watching movies at maximum volume, the sound on iPhone 14 is distorted and compressed, and the sound is not as punchy as on the 14 Pro Max.

In terms of recording, the overall sound and intensity of the iPhone 14 is very good, and the recording performance is excellent in noisy environments such as concerts. It also handles sound loss very well and outperforms other models in its range in terms of wind noise reduction. However, there is still room for improvement in the audio zoom.

According to foreign media reports, Apple launched the iPhone 14 / Pro series of smartphones in the early hours of September 8, although in some countries at 8 pm the next day began to accept reservations, 16 began to ship but have not yet started some countries sales, South Korea is one of them.

Information on Apple’s Korean website shows that the iPhone 14 series will be available for pre-order by Korean users from 30 September, this Friday, with shipping starting on 7 October.

While Samsung has a clear advantage in the Korean smartphone market, Apple’s iPhone, which is the dominant player in the global high-end smartphone market, is bound to attract a large number of consumers when it enters the Korean market, competing with Samsung’s high-end models.

Reports in the Korean media have also revealed that two of the country’s major telecoms operators have increased their subsidies for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 on the eve of the iPhone 14 going on sale in Korea. Industry observers believe that the increase in subsidies by the two telecom operators is a means of increasing the competitiveness of Samsung’s smartphone as the high-end model is set to compete with Apple’s iPhone 14 in South Korea.

According to reports in the Korean media, it is SK Telecom and KT, the former being the number one telecom operator in Korea and the latter being the second largest telecom operator in the country, who are raising the subsidy for the purchase of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4.

For the 512GB version of the Galaxy Z Flip 4, SK Telecom previously offered a subsidy of 280,000-520,000 won, which has now been increased to 380,000-520,000 won, while KT previously offered a subsidy of 255,000-650,000 won, which has now been increased to a minimum of 265,000 won.

Apple iPhone 14 series can be said to be experiencing a polarized situation, with no one asking for the standard version pre-cold and additional orders for the sought-after Pro series, and as of September 20, Apple’s major offline shops still don’t have any stock available for sale. Today, we learned from Apple’s official website that the iPhone 14 Pro is available for order on the same day, with an expected delivery time of 5-6 weeks, almost until November, while the iPhone 14 Pro Max is expected to be delivered in 6-7 weeks. “The latest delivery time for the iPhone 14 Pro Max is 6-7 weeks.

It is also worth noting that the 6-7 week wait time surpasses the average 3-4 week wait time for the iPhone 13 Pro series last year, making it the longest “standby time” in Apple’s history.

A few days ago, Tianfeng Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that Apple has asked supplier Hon Hai to increase iPhone 14 Pro series production capacity by converting part of the iPhone 14 production line to iPhone 14 Pro production line as demand for the iPhone 14 Pro series has exceeded expectations. He expects iPhone 14 Pro shipments to increase by an estimated 10 percent in the fourth quarter of this year.

It is worth noting that Apple is expected to further expand its high-end market share in the country after Huawei lost its high-end market. The market predicts that some consumers who intend to switch to a new phone may choose the iPhone 13 Pro series, even if they do not choose the iPhone 14 Pro series given the price factor.

Apple told Bloomberg that a software update will be released next week to fix the camera shake issue affecting the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models. This addresses customer concerns that the latest findings show that the drastic camera shake issue is not caused by a hardware defect in their new phones, and instead users can easily fix it by installing a software update.

The camera shake issue affects some iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro models, especially in third-party apps such as Snapchat and TikTok. Interestingly, Apple’s own camera app works perfectly fine.

A “scary scene” about this bizarre bug is now making the rounds on the TikTok platform.

The problem seems to be related to the firmware of the optical image stabilization system that controls the camera lens, which will manifest itself as an audible rattling sound in the camera module and a noticeable shaking of the output video.

You can see a demo example of the issue in this video at

If you have this camera issue on your iPhone 14 Pro or iPhone 14 Pro Max, then stay tuned for a fix in a software update coming next week, possibly iOS 16.0.2. In the meantime, it may not be advisable to keep reproducing the camera system bug if you see this issue, as it could potentially cause some permanent physical damage to the hardware.

The official version of Apple’s iOS 16 has now been pushed out, bringing new lock screen widgets, a power percentage display, and more, making it even easier to use.

However, today several foreign media outlets are complaining about Apple’s iOS 16 copy-and-paste feature, saying it’s too cumbersome and that every time you paste something from one app to another, your iPhone will pop up asking if you’re allowed to.

▼ Photo from The Verge

It’s easy to see why Apple introduced a secondary confirmation for pasting. The clipboard often contains private information, and it’s not the first time an app has messed with clipboard data, so Apple wanted to protect user privacy in this way.

However, the secondary confirmation dialog pops up every time you paste, with no one-click allow or one-click reject options, and there are no changes in the latest iOS 16.1 Beta.

Ms. Zhao, an Apple iPhone user, has been receiving a lot of harassing messages from the “Find” feature. She discovered that this was because there was a “Allow dating invitations” button hidden within the Find feature and that it was turned on by default.

In this regard, some experts say that this problem needs to be solved with the assistance of Apple and that Apple should cooperate with the relevant departments to combat the black and grey industry groups involved in such cases.

In fact, in addition to “Find”, similar nuisance messages exist in iMessage, Calendar, Albums, Family and many other functions. Apple customer service said that Apple’s system does not currently regulate the content sent by this feature, so users can only solve the problem by turning off the relevant function.

When you encounter this “Find” harassment, please do not select any options and do not click “Reject”. The first thing to do is to open “Find”, click on “Me” and then simply turn off the “Allow appointment invitations” switch.
