According to the latest technology patents approved by Apple, showing the design of the future iMac all-in-one machine. In Apple’s conception, the future iMac in the future with a screen embedded single piece of curved glass.

Note: The patent for this technology was first filed with the U.S. Trademark and Patent Office (USPTO) in 2019 and was approved in 2022. Apple also filed an application in Europe in the same year, but it was approved only recently.

The technology patent, titled “Electronic device with glass enclosure,” explores the future of the iMac through a single piece of curved glass.

According to the patent, the single piece of curved glass, with a screen on either side and a keyboard in the center, could be used as part of a stand for the iMac.

The point is that the keyboard in the center of the iMac is hollowed out, allowing users to plug in a MacBook Pro or MacBook Air laptop and expand it to act as an external screen for the MacBook.

In another design sketch Apple showed, the single piece of curved glass can be folded to take up less space.

Apple’s current MacBooks are equipped with “touching” Liu Haiping, but they are not equipped with the Face ID facial recognition function on the iPhone.

Apple officials previously stated that due to the thickness limit of the MacBook Pro screen, it cannot be equipped with a Face ID module.

At present, a new patent shows that Apple has begun to place corresponding sensors in MacBook Pro, iMac and other devices, which is expected to bring Face ID recognition function to such devices in the future.

It is found that in Apple’s “optical recognition module for determining the user of a computing device” patent, a MacBook with facial recognition function appeared. Module ‘stores user’s biometric information’.

Apple stated in the patent that in order to prevent unauthorized users from accessing users’ sensitive data, Apple will integrate “systems and mechanisms for authenticating users” in its devices.

It is reported that the “light pattern recognition module” will be located in “a partition” of the device, which may be “adjacent” to the display layer or located above the display layer, which includes an emitter capable of emitting a specific light, and A sensor that can detect light reflected from objects is roughly the same principle as the Face ID sensor technology used in current iPhones and iPads.

Considering that the thickness and frame width of Apple iMac are actually enough to accommodate the FaceID sensor of the existing iPhone or iPad, Apple’s current “optical recognition module” patent drawing is more of a reference nature, but it does not rule out that Apple will add an iMac Upper bangs for the possibility of “Face ID” facial recognition.

Apple’s “Sideship” feature can use the iPad as a second screen for Mac devices. The latest iMac patent shows that Apple plans to install projectors on the left and right sides of the back of the iMac to further expand the user’s screen.

According to a list recently released by the United States Trademark and Patent Office (USPTO), Apple has obtained an iMac technology patent titled “Electronic Device Housing Structure and Integrated Input and Output Devices.”

Attached is a patented design sketch as follows. Apple plans to install projectors on the left and right sides of the back of the iMac to project the screen area respectively. “The electronic device may be equipped with a projection display to expand the area of visual output for the user,” the patent states.
