]]> According to MacRumors, all four of Apple’s iPhone 15 / Pro models are expected to come with USB-C ports instead of Lightning ports, so some Apple accessories will also switch to USB-C ports. The EarPods wired headphones with USB-C connectors are already in mass production, according to a tweet from tipster ShrimpApplePro, which previously said Foxconn was the supplier for the headphones.

The new EarPods headphones will connect directly to the USB-C port on the iPhone 15 / Pro models without the need for an adapter. Apple’s wired headphones are currently available with either a Lightning connector or a 3.5mm headphone jack, with both versions costing $19 (currently around RMB 132, with the China line selling for RMB 149).

EarPods have started to become less popular since Apple released the AirPods wireless headphones in 2016 and removed the 3.5mm headphone jack from the iPhone, but they’re still a more affordable option for customers. AirPods also offer a simple plug-and-play wired listening experience with built-in remote control and no charging or Bluetooth pairing required.

The new EarPods wired headphones are expected to launch in September when Apple is expected to release the iPhone 15 series of phones. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has previously claimed that other accessories such as the AirPods charging case, MagSafe battery pack and the Wonder Keyboard/Touchpad/Mouse trio will also move to USB-C ports in the future.
