As a high-end workstation CPU SKU, the Thread Ripper PRO 5995WX is based on the Zen 3 architecture with 64 cores / 128 threads, according to WCCFTech.

It has a base frequency of 2.7 GHz / acceleration up to 4.5 GHz, 32MB L2 + 256MB L3 cache (288MB total), and a default thermal design power consumption (TDP) of 280W.

Although AMD has not officially unlocked overclocking capabilities for the 5995WX CPU, motherboard manufacturers like MSI have come up with ways to introduce OC features to high-end WRX80 chipset motherboards.

Earlier this year, the company launched its flagship WS WRX80 motherboard, which is known to feature an 11-phase VRM supply, 105A digital SPS unit, and a 14-layer PCB design.

One of the main features of the MSI WS WRX80 motherboard is the ability to overclock Threadripper PRO 3000 and 5000 series CPUs.

On top of that, TSAIK pushed one of the 5995WX chips at hand to the ultimate all-core 5.15 GHz frequency with the help of liquid nitrogen cooling.

The platform was also paired with Corsair 128GB (8 sticks × 16GB fully populated) @ DDR4-3200 (CL14) memory, which resulted in a 14% increase in CPU single-core frequency and impressive Cinebench R23 benchmark scores.

As the chart shows, the AMD Threadripper PRO 5995WX broke the 100,000 copy mark and achieved a multilinear score of 116,142 — a 16% lead over SkatterBencher’s score.

In addition, the 5.15 GHz 5995WX still has a 10% lead over the former world record holder (3990X CPU), which is overclocked at 5.25 GHz with liquid nitrogen.

The AMD Threadripper PRO 5995WX CPU is now firmly at the top of the HWBot list for multi-core scores.
