The Geekbench 5 benchmark test results of AMD’s 12-core 24-thread Ryzen 9 7900X have been leaked, with a base frequency of 4.7GHz and a single-core maximum acceleration frequency of 5.6GHz, still maintaining the previous generation’s 170W TDP design and increasing the cache (64 MB L3 + 12 MB L2 = 76 MB).

Compared with the existing Ryzen 9 5900X, it has a 35% increase in single-core performance and a 45% increase in multi-threaded performance, which can easily beat the Core i9-12900K, a 16-core 24-thread product, which is basically the same as the 13th-generation Core i9- The 13900 is comparable but not as good as the 13900K. Considering the pricing advantage, the Intel Raptor Lake series is better with DDR4 or DDR5.

A reviewer tested it with a Gigabyte X670E AORUS Master motherboard with 32 GB of DDR5 memory and ended up scoring 2,234 points for single-core and 20,225 points for multi-core.

The AMD Ryzen 7000 series will be available on September 27. The following is the parameter information of the first four models of the AMD Ryzen 7000 series:

R9 7950X: 16C32T, 4.5-5.7GHz, 80MB cache, 170W TDP, $699

R9 7900X: 12C24T, 4.7-5.6GHz, 76MB cache, 170W TDP, $549

R7 7700X: 8C16T, 4.5-5.4GHz, 40MB cache, 105W TDP, $399

R5 7600X: 6C12T, 4.7-5.3GHz, 38MB cache, 105W TDP, $299

The Geekbench benchmark database has just revealed the latest benchmarks for the AMD Zen 4 Ryzen R9-7900X. It can be seen that as a 12C / 24T desktop processor, its multi-threading performance is more than 30% higher than the previous generation R9-5900X, and it also beats the 8P+8E (16C / 24T) Intel Core i9-12900K flagship SKU.

The R9-7900X has a base frequency of 4.7 GHz / single-core acceleration up to 5.6 GHz, supplemented by 12MB L2 + 64MB L3 cache (76 MB total), and a thermal design power (TDP) of 170W.

From a market positioning point of view, the R9-7900X is designed to replace the R9-5900X while putting more pressure on the Core i7-12700K competitor.

The R9-7900X has previously been absent from the Geekbench 5 benchmark, but the new revelation also reveals the platform used for the test – including 32GB of DDR5 memory and an X670 AORUS Master motherboard.

In the end, the AM5 desktop CPU scored a single-core 2167 / multi-core 18446 points, which were 30% and 33% higher than the previous generation R9-5900X respectively.

Although the 13th Gen Raptor Lake Core i7-13700K does lead the R9-7900X in multi-threaded performance, the single-threaded performance is still a bit widened.

It should be noted, however, that the R9-7900X retails for a slightly higher price ($549), while the 12th-gen Alder Lake Core i7-12700K is only $409.

Multithreaded performance comparison

If the same-level Raptor Lake premium is about 20%, the price of the i7-13700K may still be less than $500, and the -F version without a nuclear display can even be close to $400 – not to mention that the 13th generation Core retains affordable DDR4 memory. support.

Finally, AMD Zen 4 Ryzen 7000 series desktop CPUs and accompanying AM5 new motherboard platforms will be available on September 27, with Intel 13th Gen Core/700 chipset motherboards to follow.
