AMD today released the Ryzen 7040HS series notebook processors, which use a 4nm process, use an 8-core Zen4 CPU and an RDNA3 core display, and are equipped with the latest Ryzen AI engine.

AMD’s press conference did not emphasize the core performance of this series of processors. The Ryzen 7040HS series processors use up to 12CU RDNA3 core display, and the frequency is as high as 3GHz. It is expected that its performance will also be greatly improved.

As shown in the picture above, the R9 7940HS is equipped with a Radeon 780M core display, with 12CU and a frequency of up to 3GHz. R5 7640HS is equipped with Radeon 760M core display, has 8CU, and the frequency is as high as 2.8GHz. In addition, this series of processors also supports LPDDR5X-7500 high-frequency memory.

AMD Ryzen 7040 HS series model parameters are as follows:

R9 7940HS: 8 cores 16 threads, up to 5.2GHz, 40MB cache, 35-45W TDP

R7 7840HS: 8 cores 16 threads, up to 5.1GHz, 40MB cache, 35-45W TDP

R5 7640HS: 6 cores 12 threads, up to 5.0GHz, 38MB cache, 35-45W TDP

The notebooks equipped with Ryzen 7040 HS series processors will be available in March 2023.
