The new Ada GPUs from NVIDIA (including the AD106 and AD107) have surfaced and will be unveiled at GTC 2023 in the near future, if not next month, and will soon be available for mainstream desktops and laptops.

According to @Moore’s Law Is Dead, both GPUs look similar to their predecessors but have a smaller chip area than their predecessors.

The Ada AD106 GPU is said to be about 180-190mm2, about 30% smaller than the GA106 GPU, while the AD107 GPU is about 150-160mm2, 20% smaller than the GA107 GPU. The following are the chip sizes of these two GPUs.

• GA106 GPU (amperage) – 276mm2
• GA107 GPU (Amp) – 200mm2
• AD106 GPU (ADa) – 180-190mm2
• AD107 GPU (ADa) – 150-160mm2

He noted that while these cards are small, Nvidia has priced them as high as high-end models, costing thousands of dollars for at least one laptop. He urged users not to rush to buy new machines, thus forcing Nvidia to reduce prices.

According to available intelligence, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 is expected to use the AD106-350-A1 GPU, a neutered version of the AD106 chip, which is supposed to contain 34 SM or 4352 CUDA cores, 8 GB GDDR6 memory, 128-bit bit width, 18 Gbps speed, and 288 GB / s bandwidth.

However, we don’t really have confirmation of any of the desktop AD107 GPUs yet, but given that the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070, RTX 4060 and RTX 4050 laptops won’t be released until at least February 22, we don’t think NVIDIA’s RTX 4060/70 desktop graphics cards should be in that much of a hurry to arrive, especially since the RTX 30 series graphics cards are still in stock.
