Many handset makers, including Xiaomi, are expecting to launch flagships equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chips as soon as possible. According to a screenshot shared by Xiaomi Update Philippines, the upcoming Xiaomi 13 Pro will be equipped with the top-of-the-line chip, paired with 12GB of LPDRR5 RAM and a custom MIUI 14.
Based on the information available so far, there are two versions of Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, with the faster model clocked at 3.5GHz. Now, there are a number of reasons why the clock speed shown in the image below is shown at 3.00GHz. It could be that the slower version of Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is being tested on the Xiaomi 13 Pro. Another reason could be that since it is an engineering sample, the Chinese phone maker may be testing the chipset at a different clock speed before deciding on a certain threshold.
